Mission: The Birchtree Center exists to promote independence, engaging relationships, and productive lives for children and youth with autism at home, at school, and in the community.
Results: Our teams of experienced autism professionals use proven methods to help students develop the communication, social, behavioral, academic, vocational and independent-living skills needed to attain full and productive lives in their families, homes, local schools, workplaces, and communities. Birchtree serves 500+ individuals in each year, including children and youth with autism, their families, their teachers and caregivers, and the people who attend Birchtree’s educational programs and workshops.

Geographic areas served: New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts & Vermont
Programs: A year-round day school: Twenty-one public school districts in NH, ME & MA send students to attend our special-educational day school in Newington--the only program of its kind in our state. It’s an intensive, one-on-one, year-round program because that’s what students with autism need to thrive. An Outreach Program: Our autism experts travel more than 20,000 miles per year in our Outreach Program to serve students, their families, and their instructors in homes, public schools, and other community settings throughout northern New England.
