We started our autism journey with our first child at his 18 month well visit. We were not only fumbling through all the new that comes with being first time parents, but now we were navigating off road territory not covered in the parenting books. Family and friends with the best of intentions did what they could but really had no understanding of what we were walking through. This was an isolating and lonely start to parenting and the autism journey. We knew no one else walking this path. TACA was our gateway to connection with other families as well as research, practical information, help and hope from other families who were farther along on this journey. I'll never forget the life-giving feeling of being in a room at the conference surrounded by so many others who get it. TACA has given us the help and hope needed to help our child be the very best version of himself.

Have you ever had that moment when you’ve found your tribe? That is what TACA has been to our family through online resources, parent mentors, local coffee talks, and incredible conferences bringing the best minds and hearts under one roof for education and connection. The thing I hear most from parents is how isolating this journey can be. TACA, more than any other resource breathes life back into families and creates community on this path. I’m honored to share our Journey Guide resource at Coffee Talks and even more blessed by the leadership of TACA.

My son is 13, diagnosed with autism when he was 5. When we received the diagnosis, we didn’t know where to begin. My family struggled through trial and error and the blessing of a couple people who could help with suggestions. I searched for support from various organizations and received some assistance, but the hold-your-hand type of support I needed just didn’t exist.
About a year ago, a friend shared TACA with me, and it has been a complete game changer. No more trial and error. No more wondering if my son/family is the only one experiencing things. And no more feeling helpless when new, difficult situations come up, which is often.
Most of all, we finally don’t feel completely alone. My favorite TACA resource is the Facebook group. When we confront a new issue or crisis, I post it in the group, and usually within minutes, someone will respond with truly helpful suggestions. The one-on-one support during virtual help hours is also incredible.
Perhaps most supportive is TACA has never asked for donations from me. TACA gets it… the best support has no strings attached. The TACA team is amazing. TACA has made such a difference as my son is learning to navigate life, and TACA has also helped us improve our situation for our other (non autistic) son and my husband and me. TACA is an answer to prayers!

I do not know where my child would be if I hadn't found TACA. Not only does TACA freely share information about how to support and improve symptoms of autism, but it also provides a community where parents can find reassurance and encouragement in what can feel like a lonely battle. I refer everybody who has a child with autism to TACA. It truly is the best resource for determining how to support your child with autism.

It also does a great job bringing together leading physicians and researchers at its Think Tank, to discuss new ideas on improving treatments for autism families. TACA came to my rescue in a time of crisis with twin boys being diagnosed with autism and no help from their pediatrician or preschools for what to do next. I was slipped the number to call for urgent information, support, for actionable steps to find the resources and specialist needed for my children’s emerging medical symptoms. I was welcomed with open arms as a parent, with crying kids in full on behavior, early seizure activity and being booted out of preschool. There were parent mentors that jumped to help me in person and with solutions for the immediate crisis without pause. I attended their conference in a deep dive and was in a room of thousands of parents and children. I met older adults with progress and independence. I met the neurologist that changed my life, the mothers who are now close pals, and even legal advice for special needs estate planning. I navigated insurance roadblocks with advocates, nutritional support, the free journey guide which has become a staple in my library. I am looking forward to their new TACA autism workbook. TACA makes information available without the red tape, the hope for a family in the throes of crisis while navigating lack of resources is essential. My twins are thriving now in great part from the help I have gotten from TACA. I cannot recommend another autism organization more than TACA. Top notch support and answers for the long haul child to adult—oh and the parents too for self-care. Their events for children are fully inclusive accommodating families to experience joy without sensory bombardment and with food options that are in line with their dietary needs. 5 ⭐️ I am now an ambassador for TACA and refer TACA as my #1 go to for my lifestyle platform thesavants.com and The Savants Initiative providing education and entertainment for those on and off the autism spectrum.

I knew TACA was different the first time our son attended one of their great community events. We pulled up to what looked like a typical carnival but when we got out of the car - it was quiet. No blaring speakers. No loud pops from a balloon game. No flashing lights or scary distractions. Healthy snacks available. Sensory bins. Places to take breaks. All things a special needs family needs to prepare for anytime they leave the house. That's when we knew that this was an organization that gets it. What it's like to be an autism family and that everyday activities, like a carnival, a shopping mall, the grocery store, can be challenging. To attend any event and know it's going to be fun, sensory-friendly, and a stress-free day vs. sensory overload and meltdowns, an opportunity to see your child happy, it just means everything to families. The opportunities they've created to connect families on social media is also tremendous. Not to mention the (what seems) limitless resources the provide, including the most up-to-date information on medical. Highly recommend.

Our family is so fortunate we get to work with TACA in many different ways: as clients who have directly benefitted from their 1:1 expertise and layers of support, to volunteer opportunities, to fundraising, to seeing how they operate and their program/event management - this is an organization that gets it right time and time again. And makes a direct, HUGE difference in the lives of their clients and families. TACA stands out from the rest because at its core, they are an autism family that's helping and bringing together other autism families. They aren't living in hypotheticals like so many other non-profits out there. Their vast resources cover behavior, medical, family resources, conferences, sensory friendly events - they know what families need because they've been through it themselves. I highly recommend TACA and will continue both proudly supporting and benefitting from their services for years to come.

So many wonderful things to say about TACA and the spectrum (pun intended!) of services they provide. From family fun events, educational opportunities via their annual conference and many virtual programs, to connecting the autism community, to advocacy, the list goes on and on. Started by an autism family FOR autism families (that’s the big difference), there’s nothing this organization can’t do. Thrilled to have found it and be a part of it as a parent, a volunteer, and a supporter.

Unbelievable what TACA has been able to do for the autism community. The hope and strength they provide for families living with autism is beautiful. I got involved over 12 years ago not only fundraising for TACA, but also volunteering at most of the events. My favorite of which is the TACA Family Picnic now the TACA Family Carnival. The event is filled with tons of attractions and vendors for TACA families to come to and have fun. Even more than that, it is filled with SMILES and a day of fresh air for everyone.

I have personally seen the impact TACA, its events and its resources, has on families. I will continue to lead the charge and support the team at TACA at any capacity I can.

We were new to the autism world when my son received his official diagnosis at age 7. Without the information we’ve been getting through TACA we probably still would be overwhelmed with what to do and how to do it. We had no clue about PANS and other associated diseases/disorders that can contribute to his symptoms. We’ve benefitted from information provided to support him and his medical/education/therapy teams. They’ve helped us uncover many beneficial tests and therapeutic ideas and we’ve seen great gains in his overall performance on a daily basis. Thank you for helping ease the struggles.

We are so thankful to TACA!

I have been able to find invaluable information on the TACA website and app, the Facebook group, and the virtual conference (2021). On top of finding information about b12 shots, leucovorin, fish oil and many other things we use after learning about them, we were able to receive a medical scholarship! That medical scholarship has provided much needed medical care to my daughter and eased the financial hardship to our family of 5.

I have so many wonderful things that I could go on and on about when it comes to TACA, but on top of what I have already said, we are so very truly thankful for my TACA mentor...she is such a blessing to me, my daughter and our family.

This is a FABULOUS organization. I was trying my best to help my son with Asperger, and read books etc but when I found TACA, attended a conference, it was life changing. Hope because I realized, from all these doctors, that autism was not a black box, but a lot was known about medical conditions that caused issues we call autism. I chose one doctor and to be our next doctor and it was life changing help. Now the fb group is so incredibly helpful too. What I like about TACA is that it is no BS, no egos, just parents and professionals of all fields who want bottom line results. And it works. My son, despite being smart, would have never been able to function in life, and now he is in College. I completely recommend TACA.

We truly would not be where we are today without TACA. So many great resources, research, up to date information, and parents helping other parents through the journey of Autism and their child’s health and wellness. My daughter was diagnosed with ASD and global developmental delay at 22 months old. She did not look healthy, struggled with eating, constipation, sleeping through the night, and has a weak immune system. Having stumbled upon the TACA website was one of the best things for us. A wealth of knowledge and resources that helped us identify underlying medical issues in our daughter. Things that unfortunately our pediatrician and pediatric GI provider would have never realized were there. Because of their experience and resources offered, we were able to find new providers to help us, and start what testing we could to help identify things we could treat right away. She has come a long way in the last year with such positive improvements in her health and development. TACA is one of the first places I come to for help when something new arises. Thank you TACA!

Our family has been blessed enough to have had a relationship with TACA for over 20 years –since before it was TACA, since before we dared to have hope.

We started with TACA back in 2000, after our 2-year-old son was diagnosed. We showed up at those early meetings bleary-eyed, shell-shocked and scared as hell. We found like-minded people who were figuring it out together. We shared our stories, our tips, our fears and our fight.

I think TACA is a perfectly name: it's a community of people taking action to benefit the lives of our loved ones with autism. TACA welcomed us into a community (support) and helped us find the strength to take action (which, happily for us, has led to progress - two steps forward, one step back).

Today, TACA has grown amazingly. They're nationwide, have touched thousands of families, and remain resolute with a message of support, a mission of action and an array of resources for those affected by autism.

Today, that 2 year old with autism has a business degree and a plan for his future. I honestly don't think we'd be here without TACA. We are forever grateful. There aren't stars enough or a review long enough to thank them.

I found TACA when my daugther was 5 years old She was non verbal, cried a lot , walked on tipy toes, spin her toys and herself, did not respond to her name, no eye contact ..etc. Her doctors said it was a severe case also that all her symptoms were associated with ASD and the only thing we could do was taking her to regular therapies for kids with these kind diagnosis. TACA provided me with so much education about her diagnosis I signed up for a mentor I found out that she had underlying medical issues that were treatable. I decided to go to the National Conferences in California I found so much HOPE education, inspiration and friendship from other parents that I decided to volunteer as a Mentor. Biomedical interventions help finding answers for my daughters path to recovery.. She started to be verbal when she was 7, She is very aware of her surroundings, she is not in pain anymore, she likes to make friends and enjoy their company. She is very happy. She is 10 now .We know we need to be prepared for puberty and all years to come but we are not scared like before , We are not alone. We have found TACA and will be forever GRATEFUL. Truly love TACA

I thought I knew about Autism because I was a special ed teacher and an ABA therapist. However, when I became a mother of a child with autism, it was a new level of Autism that I needed to research, learn, apply, grieve, and accept. I remembered going to a TACA conference once when I was a special ed teacher, so I looked up TACA and found that there is a chapter in my state. I applied for mentorship program, and when the mentor connected with me, a whole new world opened up about biomedical interventions, which I did not consider much as a teacher. It was the encouragements from other TACA moms, mentors, webinars, and FB forum that helped me to keep on research, and not lose hope. My daughter has made a HUGE progress in the last 2 years, so much that many people do not know that she is on the spectrum. I love sharing with other parents about our journey so that they can be encouraged and have hope as my TACA mentor moms have shared with me. I am forever thankful for selfless volunteer moms who mentor me, admins the FB forum, share the webinars, etc. because they have changed our lives as a family.

TACA mentors have shared their time with me to explain about the state sponsored health insurance for my daughter with ASD, and now she has two insurances to cover 100% of her medical bills, including ABA, OT, PT, and play therapy. TACA mentor has helped me to understand about MAPS doctors, and I have seen my daughter improve in her health with a HUGE POSITIVE CHANGES that makes all other therapies much more successful. Their moral support, the information resources, and stories filled with hope gives me hope for our family and I can’t help but to share this organization to other parents with children with ASD and pay it forward by volunteering to share resources, support, and hope with other parents.

TACA has changed our family's life in so many ways especially early in our sons diagnoses. When your child is diagnosed it can seem if everything is coming at you at once, and its one of the most overwhelming feelings you can experience. TACA helped make sense of it all and we never really felt alone. All I've ever wanted is to be able to see everything thing available for my son, and then we can decide what works best for us. TACA delivered that for our family. Whenever we have a family reach out to us who is early on in their journey we always ask them to start with TACA. This organization is truly making an impact in the autism community.

Our journey with Autism began with our son's diagnosis over twenty five years ago. We as a family, and our son as an individual living with Autism, would never be where we are today without the support of TACA. The Journey Guides have been a road map for us to follow as our son progressed across the spectrum from very significantly impacted to now a very staunch advocate for his rights and those of others with disabilities. He's surpassed our expectations and even reached many of his own dreams. That could never have transpired without TACA's support and that of the organization and its amazing volunteers. As a result, Carolyn has become a volunteer mentor and state Co-Coordinator assisting families as we once was were due to the gratitude felt by our family to this amazing organization. We know too we will always have support, a shoulder if needed, the information needed to assist both our son and family, but most importantly the hope we need daily.

Thank you TACA and all who have support us, this organization, individuals with ASD and their families and communities.

Our son was diagnosed with severe autism as a child. We were given no hope or direction from medical professionals who told us to concentrate on our other son because we’d most likely have to institutionalize him prior to the age of two.

Thankfully we didn’t listen and found TACA. Families supporting families have assisted us to not only suppprt our son with autism, but our entire family.

Hope is a powerful verb and it worjs! Thank you TACA for all you’ve done and to all of the staff and so many volunteers who give of themselves daily, much appreciation!

Long before I ever volunteered for TACA, I received help from TACA. It is overwhelming to have a child diagnosed with autism. There are so many things to learn. What drew me to TACA is that they provide real help with all areas pertaining to Autism. Diet, medical, school, therapies, etc. It was, and still is, the best way to get help from knowledgeable people who "get it."

The programs they offer provide a lot of valuable information for families to help with school/education support, medical support, family support, and events that allow our kids to just be kids and we all look out for each other. It's a families supporting other families. It's a great resource for parents who are struggling to get a handle on autism and how to help our kids function in the world.

TACA was there when I needed an emotional life raft. When you find out your child is ill, finding yourself amidst mothers and families who have been there is a huge blessing. These women lifted me up and helped me find my feet again. They love my children as their own. They host monthly coffee talks where we check in and help each other on the journey. I now volunteer with TACA to be that resting place for other mothers. It’s a wonderful, love driven nonprofit.

I found TACA in 2007, while desperately looking for answers on how to help my then 4 year old. I have learned all I have and my son has come as far as he has because of TACA and their volunteers. I joined TACA as a volunteer parent mentor because I want others to get from TACA what I did and continue to do. My son, who is now 8 years old, no longer meets the criteria for autism. He is completely age appropriate socially and in all areas of speech. He would not be there without the support and information I learned from the many angels I met at and through TACA.

According to doctors, our son was now just a diagnosis on a piece of paper with a long list of nevers. He’ll never speak, never say I love you, never read or write, and he’ll never integrate in school. TACA was the first resource I found when searching for hope and they have proven to be the most valuable in the 9 years since that diagnosis. Our son is speaking, reading, has friends now, and has a life we were told was impossible. This is what TACA does. They show up for parents with meaningful resources like in person meetings, mentors, and guides to help you navigate and demystify autism. They saved our family and we work every day to pay that forward, because it was a priceless gift that no donation I make could ever repay. TACA is simply the best and because of them, more families will get the chance to beat the odds and have hope.

My son was diagnosed with autism in 2008 at age 2. After the diagnosis, my husband and I felt completely overwhelmed and alone. It wasn't until a TACA mom spotted us at a birthday party and asked if our child had a diagnosis. She lead us to our first TACA coffee talk. From that moment on, we were not alone. We had support, we had guidance and we had a plan. At the first meeting, I was giving a magnificent Journey Guide which I still rely on to this day. It was filled with information on all things about treating autism. And even better, I have a community of families who have been through the same things we are going through. I have monthly Coffee Talks and meetings, as well as a nationwide community through TACA's yahoo groups. Whenever I have a questions, I just e-mail it to the group and by the end of the day, I have an answer from someone who has the answer. Without TACA, my child simply wouldn't have made the gains he has. He has gone from a non-verbal, uncommunicative toddler without eye contact and with serious behavior issues to an incredibly verbal, smart, funny and loving boy who amazes us every day. TACA guided us to the best traditional therapies and providers for us, the GFCFSF diet (which was the first step in his recovery) to other biomedical treatments. We were lucky to receive one of TACA's scholarships to see a MAPS/DAN! doctor. Now we have a traditional and biomedical protocol that is actually healing our son. Thanks to TACA and doctor advice, we started B12 shots for our son on January 1, 2012 (almost a year ago). At that point he had simple 5 word sentences and limited eye contact. The morning after the first shot when we came into his bedroom, he looked us straight in the eye and said, "Good morning Mommy and Daddy. I'm playing with my Harry Potter legos. Would you like to join me? It's lots of fun!" We were speechless. And we are grateful. And now I am a TACA mentor. I want to share this information that only families with Autism have acquired. Thank you TACA! TACA is the best thing that has happened to us since Autism!

TACA is the reason our son went from non-verbal and severely delayed (over 50% across all areas) to a mainstreamed highly verbal elementary student. TACA is a group of people dedicated to helping other families find the resources and support they need to help their children affected by autism. The money goes to help families with everything from workshops, mentors, events, educational materials and professional advice. Most importantly it is a support network where you get not just the information you need, but a big hug from someone who REALLY understands. Sometimes, just knowing someone is there to answer your call and let you cry until you are done, is more valuable than anything else. But your mentor, won't let you drown in pity, they will also give you the kick in the pants to go back out there and fight. The people at TACA give you strength when you don't know if you can take another day.

Few organizations stay true to their mission. TACA is the exception, and exemplifies what it means to be a compassionate community organization. - Jo Ashline

TACA is amazing! We support it any way we can and we have benefitted greatly from its support, services, and vast amounts of information and networking. We have two kids on the spectrum and the day we attended our first TACA conference was the day we felt hope and knew there was a network of parents who've walked in our shoes and can help guide us through this crazy journey. We never stop learning and TACA has been a huge piece of that. If anyone ever asks me about great organizations, this is the first to come to mind.

TACA has been a wonderful resource for our family for over 10 years. They have provided education, counseling, workshops and fun for our family that we could not get anywhere else.
TACA helps kids with autism and their families like no other organization.
It's so hard to go places as a family when your child has behaviors caused by autism. TACAs family picnics and events with Santa give our son and his siblings a place to have fun and be himself without the worry of people staring or saying unkind things.
TACA is an extended family for all of the families who show up needing help. You get help, hugs, and information and guidance to help your child heal and get advice to help your child receive an education. My son is now in high school in general ed and on schedule to graduate with his class. I don't know if we would have made it this far without TACA. ❤️

TACA is an amazing organization that focuses on helping families with Autism. It provides parents with valuable tools to help their children affected with Autism. The three things you will get when engaging with TACA are:

1) Access to other parents and mentors, who has been through the same road before and can provide valuable experience
2) Ability to meet specialists in Autism through its yearly conference.
3) An educated point of view of what available options you have, depending on your circumstances (all people affected with Autism are unique).

Finally, and as important, it provides hope for dads and moms who need it. It is an incredible community with a relentless focus and drive.

TACA is an amazing organization. We started out as confused and upset parents, desperately needing guidance for our diagnosed children. Later, we attended events, and starting donating. Eventually, we've started our own software company to help children on the Autism spectrum, and are now a TACA sponsor. TACA people are THERE FOR YOU to help you get your services and programs on track, to get the best possible outcome for your child. There is so much love and care -- there is no other Autism charity like TACA.

To say that TACA is amazing is an understatement. They have helped our family with so much over the past 8 years since our son was first diagnosed with autism. The autism journey is very confusing and overwhelming, but TACA has taught us how to navigate through it all. With the help and guidance that they have given us, our family has learned how to advocate for our son to get him the services/treatments that he needs in order to be healthy and succeed in life - he is doing very well now thanks to them. Our family loves and appreciates TACA so much that we decided to become volunteers for them. They are a fantastic organization and we feel very fortunate to have found them.

TACA has helped thousands of families, and when you think Autism help, the community thinks of TACA. When my child was diagnosed at 2.5 (in 2002), and doing research on how my family can get help, I just kept reading so many parents talking about how TACA directly helps families through so many volunteers. This is the organization that can help guide a family through most everything they need (medical resources, advocacy, school, therapies, etc). The most giving and caring group I have met. My family would be lost without the TACA people we have met.

When my son was diagnosed with autism in 2000 I was mired in grief when the answers for my son's pain were elusive to the medical community. Then I heard about a small group of parents meeting nearby who were helping each other to find the answers for their children. That group was eventually called Talk About Curing Autism. The first thing I learned from this group was that hope is real and that our kids can get better. It was the salve of healing I needed to go find answers for him. A little over two years later my son was declared recovered from autism by his pediatrician. Today he is a junior in high school, on the high honor roll, plays in the band and is on the cross country team. Oh, and we just signed him up for SAT and ACT tests because he is going to college! None of this would have been possible if not for TACA's support. This is why I am still involved as a chapter coordinator and volunteer. The gift of a future for my son is something I will always be grateful for, and seeing other families achieve the same for their child is what it is all about.

I remember the first time I was able to attend a TACA meeting. We had been on our journey for a few years already, and it was amazing to be surrounded by other parents who shared my passion for healing and supporting our kids. Raising a child with autism can be so isolating, and TACA helps us connect and stay positive and focused on helping our kids. Being involved with TACA (both as a parent of a child with autism and as a volunteer) has helped my family immeasurably. No other organization focuses on helping families RIGHT NOW the way TACA does. I also really appreciate that TACA isn't focused on just one issue -at TACA, the most important issue in autism is the one that you and your family is struggling with today. It might be IEP and school district challenges. It might be medical concerns (I joke that at TACA meetings we inevitably end up talking about poop and food), it might be conservatoriships or special needs trusts, but the wealth of info on the website and in the Journey Guide is powerful and easy to access. Because of the army of awesome volunteers, TACA reaches many families who otherwise might have no other resource for information and social interaction (TACA picnics and family events are THE BEST!). It's also iportant to note that TACA is fiscally responsible stretching every dollar to help as many families as possible. I'm so grateful to TACA for all they have done for my family, and I'm humbled and proud to be a part of the organization as a volunteer.

We found TACA through another autism mom. What a blessing! I spent my days taking my child to various therapies and my nights researching diet, biomedical intervention etc. The hours spent on the internet took time away from my family. TACA has the research right at your fingertips on their website. You also realize that you are not alone in the journey. The best advice I've received in our autism journey was from other TACA moms who paved the way before us. I'm especially proud that 95% of what TACA offers to families is free! TACA is the perfect example of how every nonprofit should operate. 95% of monies go directly into programs and support that help families dealing with autism. I used to give to Autism Speaks but stopped when I learned how much money is wasted on administrative expenses and sickened to learn how little Autism Speaks actually uses their funds to help those living with autism today.

TACA is families with autism helping families with autism and other special needs. As a client served, TACA helped me and my family get oriented to find help for my son. When we got the diagnosis, I felt so overwhelmed and TACA mentors helped me focus and find the right providers for my son. Now as a volunteer (chapter coordinator and parent mentor), I share our experience with other families to give them that same kind of guidance. Autism is such a complex disorder, and parents have a steep learning curve, so I feel so fortunate to have found TACA! My son has dome remarkably well (he has lost the diagnosis of autism), and he also is proud to be a part of this great org that helps so many families.
What is unique about TACA is that we (the volunteers) understand what parents need because we've lived with autism. We taylor our help to what a family needs from understanding the diagnosis and advocating for the right therapies and school placement to finding an experienced medical doctor who understands the many common medical issues that our kids suffer including gastrointestinal disorders, nutritional deficiencies and seizures.

I love TACA! The services they offer to families are amazing. I received a camp scholarship that I was unable to use for my son, and they just held it for me until the next year. TACA is available to families 24/7 and the parent advice/information is unsurpassed. TACA has helped so many families!

TACA helped me to find the answers to help my son with autism at a crucial time. That was 12 years ago and today my son is 14, fully recovered from autism, destined to create a future of his choosing. None of that would have happened if not for the information I received through TACA. That is why even after he was declared recovered I continued with TACA as a volunteer mentor, and now Coordinator for the Massachusetts chapter. It's all about helping the next parent to find the answer for their child too.

TACA has been essential in my family's life since our son was diagnosed with autism six years ago. They have been supportive by providing many avenues to access education in a wide variety of topics (biomedical, legal, school district, financial assistance). Just as importantly TACA, has provided much needed emotional support. I have been a TACA Mentor for about three years and TACA has helped me help many people via continuing education. Now I am helping with TACA Connecticut and we are helping even more families every day. Without TACA, I would not be the advocate for my child that I am today.

The diet and treatment were key to my daughter's recovery - TACA's website had all the information I could ask for to guide us along our journey. I printed out packets of information from the website and carried it with me everywhere I went. We are forever grateful !!

TACA is an incredible asset to families living with autism in Hawaii! Hawaii is one of the most isolated spots on the planet. TACA connects us with the cutting edge physicians treating autism in the country. These physicians are featured in blogs and webinars. But sometimes TACA actually gets them to visit and provide a live lecture. And through TACA's influence, a few of them end up getting medical licenses in Hawaii so they can help our families even more!

Our family has been living with and treating autism for 10 years. We found TACA after being on the journey for 2 1/2 years and it was a significant turning point for our son and our entire family. The information shared by the Parent Mentor Program with training as well as being served by the program was instrumental in getting where we are today. The Chapters Program took us from being a family helped by TACA to being a family helping other families through TACA. Attending TACA Events, Coffee Talks and TACA Meetings is something we look forward to.

How will TACA use your donation? Your donation may help fund a medical scholarship for a needy family with a child with ASD, or pay to print or ship more of their AMAZING journey guide books which are GIVEN to families brand new to the world of autism. Your donation may be used to train TACA's cadre of parent-mentors and update the INCREDIBLE website (www.tacanow.org) with the latest information about navigating food reactions, medical treatment, public school assistance, or insurance benefits. Your donation may support one of the TACA REAL HELP NOW conferences held at major cities each year in the US, where cutting-edge medical and legal specialists speak in an open forum to parents, providing LIFE-CHANGING practical information for them to change the outcome of their child's condition now.

How do I know? Because I've been there. My daughter was diagnosed with Aspergers at 7 in late 2010. My wife and I immediately read all the books in our library's ASD section, but none offered any practical advice or real hope. Local ASD support-group meetings were depressing and speakers used educational lingo that made my head spin. A friend mentioned TACA and TACA immediately became a springboard that launched us in a positive direction.

The best part is the amazing community that TACA provides to all who are affected by ASD. The backbone of TACA is the understanding that REAL Medical HELP is available to all children on the spectrum within communities across the globe. Local moms and dads who have navigated the medical, educational, legal, and insurance fields mentor other local moms and dads new to autism. Sometimes, we just need someone to talk to. Someone who gets it. Lucky for us, TACA is there, and TACA definitely gets it!

TACA is a wonderful organization giving hope to families with autism. I am honored to be a mentor for them. When I first started recovering my son from autism 5 years ago I was told to get the TACA Journey Guide by a friend, and it was the best advice I ever got. He has made huge gains in the last 5 years and I thank TACA for helping me get started!

When our son was diagnosed with autism, we knew nothing about it, and the only resource we could find was the internet. We found TACA's website to be an incredible support tool, both in inspiring us when we were overwhelmed and depressed; and in providing us basic guidelines on dietary improvements, therapies, school inclusion techniques. TACA gave us hope and a plan, and we have seen such a difference in our child over the past few years. Now I mentor other parents for TACA to share our families' experiences.

When our family walked into autism 9.5 years ago Talk About Curing Autism Now was the only organization out there offering HELP and HOPE. As we have continued on this journey they continue. Our child is not recovered but he is a completely different child and keeps getting better and better thanks to the time, research and devotion that TACA does for it members.

I also love that my wife is able to volunteer and give back through TACA, it is important that new parents always have this support and resources.

In June of 2004, our youngest child was diagnosed with autism. The neurologist told us to go home and learn to live with this, because this was the rest of our lives. My husband and I looked at each other and were in shock that we were supposed to learn to live with a child who never had a firm stool, was not potty trained, felt no pain, and was locked in his world. Fortunately the internet and a few yahoo groups later we found Talk About Curing Autism now. It changed our lives and that of our child. TACA taught us every skill we needed to help get Austin the services he needed from the school district, from regional center and even from our doctors. While we do not have a recovered kid we a completely different child. He is now potty trained, feels pain in a normal way, and is part of our world. The world of autism is a lonely isolated place, but once you find TACA you are never alone!

I've had the privilege of serving on the TACA Board for more than 4 years now. After my son was diagnosed with Autism 11 years ago, TACA was the one place I could find straight forward information and resources. As a marketing executive, I've been involved with many different charities and TACA continues to amaze me on what they are able to do with limited resources. Given some additional support, this could be one of the most impactful non-profits of our times.

My first encounter with TACA was in 2006 at a TACA Medical Breakthroughs Conference for parents. I am an attorney and was a vendor at the conference. Parents at that conference asked questions directly to nationally recognized physicians specializing in the care of children with Autism. This direct access was almost unheard of in 2006. I watched amazed as all the speakers were surrounded by parents with questions as they tried to exit the conference. For many parents, for the first time, they were getting information about how to care for their child in real time from doctors and other professionals who had answers. As a result, TACA immediately impressed me as a non-profit that was different: TACA wasn't about feel-good walks or distributing pamphlets to raise community awareness: TACA provided then and continues to provide today REAL HELP NOW for families who have a child with Autism through one-on-one parent mentors, medical and legal conferences, resource guides and nine other critical programs. It was my pleasure in 2012 to be asked to join the TACA Board of Directors to help guide this outstanding and much-needed organization that continues to give real help to an ever-growing number of families who have a child with Autism.

I am a pediatrician and have been helping families with autism negotiate the confusing world of treatment options for over 10 years now. I am privileged to work in the same area where TACA first got its start, and was at one of the very first physician information meetings. Since that time, I have referred hundreds of families to TACA. There's nothing like an experienced TACA mentor parent to help guide a newly-diagnosed family through the maze of therapies and local school services. I can concentrate on the medical side of autism therapy, and put my patients in the very capable hands of TACA to guide them through everything else. From marriage counseling to legal information, from dietary and nutrional advice to playdates and coffee-talk gatherings, from social events and carnivals to medical conferences, TACA offers hands-on support through local chapters nationwide. TACA is, without exception, the most effective support group for families with autism and I will continue to work closely with them and refers all my patients to them for years to come.

I cannot put into words what a blessing TACA has been to our family. Like many families affected by autism, when our son was diagnosed we were devastated and overwhelmed. We felt incredibly alone and had little to no guidance on what, if anything, we could do to help him. Thank God we found TACA, as it provided us with a lifeline of hope. With the knowledge and support of others who were walking similar journeys, we were able to seek financial support, and find resources and therapies that would help put our son on the path to recovery. As a volunteer for TACA, I can only hope our family can help other struggling families as much as TACA has helped us.

Having a child diagnosed with autism is an overwhelming thing. I know; it happened to me in 1998. Suddenly I needed to know about diets, therapies, special education law and more. It was more than overwhelming. For years when I could not leave the house and get to meetings because my child with autism was so sick, I used the TACA website as a valued source of up to date information on autism and the available treatments. Information truly is power, and it is key to helping parents make the best decisions possible for their child's treatment. In 2008 I began volunteering for TACA as a Chapter Coordinator in Illinois. TACA educates, empowers and supports families through a variety of programs, including monthly meetings that include educational speakers, informal coffee talks where parents can help and support each other on a regular basis, and a parent mentor program that matches new parent up with a seasoned, experienced parent who can help them navigate the autism journey. Every new family that attends a TACA event receives a free 300+ page book called "The Autism Journey Guide." It includes everything I wish someone had told me when my son was diagnosed. It's a fantastic resource. The TACA website is absolutely loaded with information and includes live chat so that parents can get help in the moment they need it. I love TACA. I believe in what we do. My time is precious. I would not volunteer my time for any other autism organization. TACA helps the families of children with autism in real and very meaningful ways every day. I am proud to volunteer for TACA. I know we make a difference in the lives of families of children with autism. And being an autism mom, there is no cause closer to my heart.

In this age of uncertainty in autism, while some are searching for a cause, and even more are scrambling to re-train the symptoms, it is priceless to have an organization that so bravely and unabashedly shows us how to actually repair our brain-injured children, all the while helping us appreciate them for the little wonders they are. It is why I have donated both money and time to the organization that is HELPING families affected by autism navigate through ALL the situations they are struggling with, whether it be financial, emotional or physical. TACA treats the whole child, heals the complete family and enlightens the entire the world. Thank you TACA!

I was introduced to TACA 7 years ago when I attended a "new parents of" one-day workshop. I have relied on TACA and their network for guidance every since. The organization has heart and knows how to operate in the most fiscally responsible way possible. I am eternally grateful to the organization and everyone involved with TACA.

As a scientist, clinician and author of book for parents and the general public called THE AUTISM REVOLUTION: Whole Body Strategies for Making Life All It Can Be (Harvard Health Publications/Random House) that explains the science behind practical, low-risk intervention strategies, I have thought long and hard about how best to address autism under the present circumstances, and it is my considered opinion that TACA cuts to the heart of the matter by offering parent-to-parent mentoring that can help parents find and actually implement thoughtful approaches for their own children. Autism has been called an enigma, a puzzle, a tragedy, a catastrophe and more. There is no broad consensus on its causes or cures. Yet many practical things can be done with knowledge we have right now. I hope the day comes soon when these approaches become part of a more concerted public health program to optimize the health and function of at risk and vulnerable children now. TACA is a model for making real, practical progress in the trenches in complicated chronic and neurodevelopmental conditions.

Over 10 years ago, the word Autism came in to my vocabulary....and 6 years ago it came in to my HEART!! 6 years ago I was introduced to TACA through a friend that needed some help on planning a event for Autism Awareness...and since I help plan events for my job - I jumped at the chance to have some fun. Never in a milion years would I imagine the LOVE and appreciation I would receive ..... during the past 6 years of participating in several more events with TACA - and including my family to 'help out' by shlepping cases of drinks, setting up tables, walking horses for little kids that have never even been around horses, setting up auction items, on and on ..... never would I have imagined the amount of respect TACA treats it's volounteers. The entire TACA Team treats everyone with kindness and love. And thru this wonderful TACA team my children and family have learned so much about working hard by volunteering, as well as tolerance and respect for ALL people and the best of all .....simple human kindess.

I have been so fortunate the past 6 years now to have TACA in my life. I was introduced to the founders of TACA, Lisa & Glen Ackerman, back in 2006 as Buchanan Children's Charities was created, and we were looking for entrepreneurial organizations that would have a meaningful impact on children. TACA truly has the dedication to provide not only the children affected with autism, but also the families with the strength, connection to the community, and getting the needed help from professionals. I myself, don't have a family member that is autistic, but have recommended many friends. Now serving as an ambassador for TACA, it is so nice to see such passion & drive in this organization. The community needs more organizations like TACA so that people can connect, share stories, and most important know that there are resources available.

In my role with Community Relations at Oakley, Inc. I have had the privilege of working with TACA for several years now. Initially, we worked with them in an employee engagement capacity. Our employees always loved volunteering with their organization and came back raving about the experience. TACA runs such impactful programs and provides much needed navigation services for families facing autism. They work with such compassion and expertise and have a truely essential impact on the community. The stories of those whose lives have been changed by TACA are countless. If I ever have a child with autism, I will be so glad to know that I can count on TACA. About a year and a half ago, Oakley launched a product collection with proceeds going to TACA. We did this because we felt we were in a unique position to raise awareness of this disease that affects 1 in 91 children. Our employees and athletes were very passionate and we wanted to step up and make a bigger impact. It's been great to see how our support has encouraged others to give and get involved!
