Causes: International, Promotion of International Understanding
Mission: To use holistic education and empowerment to reduce the impact of poverty on marginalized populations.
Programs: Health: aacc's largest health program is in cap haitian, haiti. We support the health program for pregnant moms, children, and families with young children. This includes urgent care, preventative care, and on-going chronic illnesses. There are smaller programs in nicaragua that include vitamin distribution for children 6 months through 5 years of age and pregnant women.
education: aacc's education program includes scholarships for children in jalapa, nicaragua and kijabe, kenya for90 students. In addition, we provide training and funding for story hour for children 2-10 years of age in 9 communities totally about (this varies per month) over 150 children per month.
community development: this program focuses on 2 communities providing 10 home visits to each household sharing information around education and preventative health measures; community workshops in the community with 6-8 families attending each workshop, and project development support for the community. The project development support includes community training on goal setting, priority development, resource assessment, and monitoring and evaluation of projects.
