Mission: Mission: texas parent to parent is committed to improving the lives of texas children who have disabilities, chronic conditions and/or special health care needs. We accomplish this by empowering families to be strong advocates through parent to parent support, resource referral and education, and by educating professionals about the unique needs of these children. Vision: texas parent to parent wants every texas family that has a child with a disability, chronic condition and/or special health care need to have the tools and support necessary to help their child thrive and enjoy a full and satisfying life.
Programs: Support, information, referral, & resources provided to families of children with a disability or chronic illness. Peer support, volunteer training, phone and internet support.
parent professionals train health care, human services, service, education, & related professionals as well as family members on topics related to parenting children with disabilities, chronic illness, & other special needs. (1000 human services & health professionals)
annual and regional conferences for families of children with disabilities or chronic illnesses and the professionals who work with this population.
