Programs: 2017 annual conference: building a sustainable future for texas. The conference examined key issues like energy, health, water and transportation and the challenges we face ensuring an equitable, efficient supply of them in the coming century.
the o'donnell awards annually recognize rising texas researchers who are addressing the essential role that science and technology play in society, and whose work meets the highest standards of exemplary professional performance, creativity and resourcefulness. Through these awards, tamest promotes broader awareness of the state's top achievers in medicine, engineering and science, and builds a stronger identity for texas as an important desitnation and center of achievement in these fields. Every year, tamest recognizes these emerging researchers at its annual conference.
the tamest shale task force report - "environmental and community impacts of shale development in texas" - collects the best science available and summarizes what has been learned about the impacts of shale oil and natural gas development. The task force convened by tamest is a first-of-its-kind, comprehensive review of scientific research and related findings regarding the impacts of shale oil and gas production in texas with a focus on six key areas: seismicity, land, air, water, transportation, and economic and social impacts.
