Mission: To establish the energy and resources institute as the developing country conscience of global policy-makers on issues of energy, environment, and sustainable development and to mobilize support towards these issues.
Programs: In collaboration with yale university, teri na has been organizing the annual us-india energy partnership summit since 2009. The fifth edition of the summit, titled accelerating resilient growth and development, was held in washington, dc on september 30 and october 1, 2014. The summit brought together over 200 participants, including senior political representatives, leading policy makers, researchers and corporates from both countries, to address various issues related to energy efficiency, security, access and technology. These stakeholders from various sectors discussed avenues for new and strengthened collaboration in various aspects of clean technologies and renewable energy, green buildings and sustainable cities, decentralized energy access, alternatives such as shale gas, etc. , particularly in light of the new indian government. the iwokrama international centre iic was established in 1996 to demonstrate the sustainable use the pristine rainforest in the heart of guyana. The aim of this project was to develop a five year plan that will enable the iic to reach financial stability. Teri north america and yale school of forestry and environmental studies prepared the five year plan under contract with the commonwealth secretariat comsec for the chairman of the international board of trustees ibot, dr. Rajendra pachauri, and the iic in the first quarter of 2014. This plan sets out to detail a full cost sustainable 5-year business plan for consideration by the ibot.
