Mission: TCWP is dedicated to protecting natural lands and waters through public ownership, legislation, and cooperation with the private sector. While our primary focus is the Cumberland Plateau and Smoky Mountains, our efforts often extend to the rest of Tennessee and the nation.
TCWP's strengths are our willingness to conduct research on each issue, our efforts to be a well-informed participant in discussions about the future of Tennessee's natural areas, and our strong information and education activities (especially the TCWP newsletter). TCWP works effectively with legislative, administrative, and judicial branches of the federal, Tennessee, and local governments.
