Causes: Developmentally Disabled Centers, Disabilities, Human Services
Mission: The organization specializes in serving children diagnosed with classical autism spectrum disorders and other social and communicative disabilities. The center strives to meet each child's educational and behavioral goals.
Programs: The technology foundation serves children with disabilities who are on the autism spectrum by providing a vast amount of support for both the child and the family. Our in-staff, licensed occupational therapist, speech therapists and physical therapist cater to the needs of the individual child. Our on-site licensed social workers aid the families of children on the autism spectrum through psychotherary and bi-weekly support meetings as well as parent training classes. Our classrooms have small teacher to student ratios staffed by special education teachers with vast experience in integrating many various therapeutic programs for children with autism and other developmental delay, and one highly trained teacher assistant per classrom. Having small ratio in each class enables us to provide individualized instructions and meet each child's individual goals. Children who require a smaller teacher-student ratio may opt for 3-7 hours of additional one to one therapy per day. The techonology foundation also offers children community based instruction through various field trips, which include activities designed to increase fine and gross motor skills, as well as language and muscular development. Children learn to transfer their social skills to the environment in which they live. They attend wonderfully planned, fun filled field trips from 12pm-4pm such as: swimming with dolphins, horseback riding, visiting the petting zoo, the parrot jungle and dandy bear, swimming in the ocean and the pool, and much, much more.
