Mission: Team up mentoring connects the key elements of a child's life in order to foster growth and success through building long term relationships with children, collaborating with all stakeholders, and providing resources and skills for the entire family. Team up mentoring envisions that all young people practice spiritual and emotional health, possess the skills they need for employment and managing finances, live in safe and affordable housing, and reach their highest educational potential. Programs: Team up has a highly specialized approach to serving our students. Our approach is to create a team for each child starting at age 3. The team for each child consists of mentors, tutors, therapists, counselors, transportation, and the faith community. Teams operate as extended families. They are creative and resourceful - doing whatever it takes to help kids succeed. Examples include making sack lunches, giving rides to the doctor, and providing emotional and spiritual support. Teams are composed primarily of volunteers - with the average team spending 10 hours per week with each child or 500 hours a year. We celebrated yet another high school graduate. A georgia certified teacher worked privately with several students intensively throughout 2017 - with remarkable results! Students gained an average of 1. 5 grade levels in reading ability in 2017. One student moved from a 1st grade to 4th grade reading level!
