Mission: To reduce cardiovascular disease and increase the heart health of the greater tampa bay community through clinical and basic science research, education of physicians and other health care professionals, and educational outreach to the community.
Programs: Researchthe foundation is dedicated to funding and supporting research that will lead to the most innovative cardiac care for the greater tampa bay community. Part of what makes us unique is our grant objective to provide start-up funding for committed and enthusiastic regional researchers. We believe that research of merit should be conducted, and we are committed to providing an avenue for timely research that may ultimately save lives. Educationthe foundation is committed to providing quality continuing medical education to the health care professionals in our region, through events such as the florida valve symposium, an annual international conclave of leading cardiovascular physicians, researchers, and academicians focused on advances and emerging trends in the management of patients with heart disease. With a distinguished faculty comprised of the world's leaders in cardiovascular health, the symposium is designed to further our mission to elevate the level of understanding of cardiovascular disease and treatment in our region. More informed and knowledgeable healthcare professionals lead to better patient care. Community outreachcommunity education and outreach are critical initiatives for decreasing cardiovascular disease. The foundation's outreach activities include various health screenings and educational seminars. Through partnerships and collaboration with other organizations, the reach is extended even further. We are committed to improving the cardiac health of our communities.
