Mission: To represent the best interests of svu members and to promote quality vascular ultrasound services by providing educational, scientific, and literary activities to our members, patients, and the public.
Programs: Annual conference - the annual conference is an interactive forum addressing the educational and professional needs of its members and other vascular technologists/sonographers, regardless of experience level. The conference is a blend of scientific and clinical sessions, tutorials, educational workshops, lunches and speakers, panel discussions, vascular case study sessions, and exhibits of the latest products/services for the vascular ultrasound profession.
journal and newsletters - svu publishes a quarterly scientific, peer-reviewed journal for vascular ultrasound (jvu), and a monthly online newsletter called e-spectrum. These publications report on svu's federal legislative/regulatory advocacy efforts, member profiles, the latest information on svu's education programs, membership recruitment and retention efforts, products, svu activities, and news of the vascular profession. Jvu contains original articles on basic and clinical aspects of vascular diagnostics, advances in the field, techniques, book reviews, case studies, and viewpoints. The e-spectrum newsletter provides the latest on activities and issues affecting the field, job listings, training courses, and new product information.
continuing medical education (cme), education courses, and products - annually, svu offers two rpvi exam review courses, one in the spring and one in the fall, to help prepare physicians to take the rpvi credential exam offered by ardms. Svu, in conjunction with pegasus lectures, inc. , offers an online rpvi e-course with various vascular modules that physicians can review on their own schedule should they be unable to attend either of the semi-annual review courses held each year.
