Mission: The survuvor fund assesses and manages various programs that investigate, evaluate and edulcate people about torture(s) against humanity throughout the world.
Programs: The survivor fund has no employees but provides funding to support and enhance the work of the bellevue/nyu program for survivors of torture in its mission to provide medical and mental health care as well as social and legal services to survivors of torture and their families. To this end the survivor fund provides funding for survivors' medical and pharmacy fees not otherwise covered; emergency aid for housing, clothing, food; filing fees for legal proceedings and documents; applications for school and training; metrocards for transport for treatment.
the survivor fund supports the work of the bellevue/nyu program for survivors of torture in increasing the knowledge of healthcare and other professionals as well as the larger public about the health and social impact of torture on victims and the community. Program staff presented at conferences, testified before congress and conducted trainings across the us and internationally.
