Causes: Christianity, Religion
Mission: We are a public charity that inspires, informs, and invests in the lives of inner city youth in Birmingham, Alabama. In 2012 my brother, Terrell L. Ellis was brutally shot and murdered at the age of 22. His death became the catalyst and inspiration for TSP - officially established in 2016. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, 24% of arrestees in 2015 were between the ages of 18 and 21. Crimes included such things as robbery, larceny, rape, and homicide. TSP combats these statistics by implementing programs that equip youth with tools needed to live successfully.
Results: TSP is steadily expanding our territory. We have successfully formed partnerships with other local non-profits to form a network of support for our youth. To date, we have joined forces with the Jefferson County Adolescent Mentorship Program to engage one-on-one with mentees while simultaneously overseeing a job readiness and self-preservation program.
Target demographics: Misguided, inner-city youth
Geographic areas served: Birmingham metropolitan area
Programs: small groups, mentors, stewardship opportunities within the youth's community, and guidance.
