Mission: Our mission is to serve as a multi-purpose gathering place that enriches, educates, and entertains by presenting artistic and educational programs and by hosting private and public events
Geographic areas served: California's Central Coast
Programs: Sunset Cultural Center’s high quality performing arts, arts education programs and accessibility to the community distinguish the Sunset Cultural Center from other regional performing arts centers. The historic SCC complex includes a state of the art theater, two art galleries, arts organizations offices, community gathering spaces, and homes to numerous cultural organizations. We strive to steward the facility in a way that connects the wider community with the arts and educational programs of SCC. Additionally, SCC's Sunset Presents season presents over 20 world class performances each year in addition to the various external presenters that use the venue. The city of Carmel’s recent signing of a 15 year management contract with SCC exemplifies the Center’s success in the community, outstanding regional reputation, and nationally recognized arts education programs.
