Sunflower Project has engaged our community on the South Side of Chicago in amazing ways, both through their partnerships with many schools and cultural organizations as well as generally leading the way in efforts to beautify the neighborhoods and remediate the earth. The leadership at this organization is outstanding and they have ambitions that extend far beyond Chicago. Even more than their amazing efforts to clean up the pollution from decades of manufacturing that has leached into our soil and teaching children their own power to improve the community, Sunflower Project just puts a smile on the face of every person who encounters one of these mammoth organic sunflowers -- you look up, gaze it this bright yellow flower head, and just get giddy thinking about how incongruous it is from the surrounding environment and it makes you want to be a better person too!
