This organization is dedicated to preserving the history of the island. The island is located at the tip of what is Michigan; just a stone's throw from Canada. The society aims to restore the buildings and the stories of the early inhabitants and their ancestors to this unique corner of America. I was part of a fundraiser this evening to put on a new roof of the Finn Hall. An excellent band : http://www.kaivama.com/ performed there as part of the fundraiser. I enjoyed the music and the nostalgia of the evening and hope that future fundraisers are equally well-attended and successful. Thank you SIHPS!
