Mission: Stride academy nurtures individuals while fostering leadership and empowering students to attain their highest potential in a family-centered environment.
Programs: Stride academy is a year-round k-8 charter school which provides students with a rigorous literacy and mathematics program aligned to minnesota state standards. Small class sizes are stressed at each grade level. Students wear uniforms. Core knowledge, saxon math, and journeys reading are used as tools of instruction. In addition, our focus on leadership development with our students and families, provided by the leader in me philosophy, training, and programing, allows stride academy to develop all of our children into 21st century leaders. All stride academy students are taught about, and how to implement into their daily lives, the 7 habits of highly effective people from stephen covey. In addition all stride students in grades k-8 receive weekly spanish instruction, weekly art instruction, weekly music (band, choir, general music) instruction, and pe twice per week. Our building is designed with two large gymnasiums, two large music rooms, and an art room. Finally, based on e. D. Hirschs groundbreaking research on student learning, stride academy utilizes core knowledge to equalize and ground the education our students receive in history, science, art and music. This allows stride students greater academic excellence and increased literacy success within all content areas. The school ended the year with an enrollment served of 669 students in average daily membership.
