Mission: Strange Horizons seeks to bring literary-quality speculative fiction (science fiction, fantasy, magical realism, slipstream, etc) to a wide audience, free of charge, through publication of a weekly magazine. We work to increase diversity in speculative fiction by publishing works by women, members of cultural or ethnic minority groups, and previously unpublished authors. We also hope to strengthen community ties within the speculative fiction community, bringing new writers and readers in contact with each other.
