Mission: The organization strives to teach and disseminate educational material to the public, including, but not limited to, oral history and storytelling, publications, lectures, and programs.
Programs: Shine/sunflower co: in partnership with the aclu and other local partners, the organization directed and provided professional development for a year-long data collection and narrative change project aimed at disrupting the school to prison pipeline in the mississippi delta. Designed a youth curriculum and provided training to local facilitators in implementing the curriculum and a community oral history project.
banneker homes: the organization provided a oral history training program and held public events centered around stories of african american residents of banneker homes in san francisco.
alameda county listening campaign: the organization provided oral history trainings and interviews to support the creation of a community plan for alameda county office of education.
