I have supported CEP as a donor for many years. Their mission is so important and CEP does a great job of meeting students where they are and providing individualized academic support. This is a great organization, I am happy to donate to each year, and I appreciate the communication CEP provides to its supporters.
I was a volunteer at CEP for many years, and I could not recommend it more! The staff are so kind and supportive and the students are wonderful. CEP is doing very important and impactful work and I encourage everyone to get involved as a volunteer or donor.
Tutoring my students is the highlight of my week! I love being part of their educational journey!

My experience with CEP has been fantastic. As a volunteer tutor, I've felt prepared by the staff to work with my student and understand their unique needs. My staff partners have always been responsive and happy to help me discover great resources to grow my student's academic skills. Working with my student has challenged me and enriched my life in many ways. I feel lucky to be receiving as much benefit from this relationship as my student is. Watching them grow and develop new skills over the year has been one of my greatest joys.
CEP although a small team, has been working very hard in closing the academic barriers our unhoused community has. They have gone above and beyond with connecting with families in providing resources available to them and checking in on the families. They provide tutoring, backpacks, school supplies, books, school enrollment support, and online academic resources for students. They follow up with school districts to ensure families are being protected under the McKinney Vento Act and advocating for the families as well. Really appreciate CEP's work. I do think they need a bigger team to continue doing all of the amazing work!
The work of CEP has inspired me to spend my Friday nights volunteering to advance the educational pursuits of the coming generation. The kids here are filled with joy and energy, and the environment emanates warm and loving vibes. I can confidently say that the nonprofit is doing good, meaningful work, and I am grateful to contribute to and aid their efforts.
Number 1, you’re family, you have to have a heart and a soul to do this and take care of the kids like you do. They love the learning center. I don’t know where it comes from but it comes from someone, somewhere. So thank you.
My whole Family really appreciate Mrs Emily She has help my children so much with homework also with my sons learning issue. She always go beyond when it comes to the children she also has help me registered my children in school . My kids cry with the thought that they wont see her anymore. we love her very very much
I love the way CEP's tutors make learning fun. The academic support provided by the tutors is top-notch and the students look forward to meeting with their tutors each week. What most impresses me is that the students know that when their CEP tutors arrive, they will receive 100% of that adult's attention for the next hour. There's something magical about a child feeling heard, seen, and valued!
Volunteers at CEP are helping students to read. Volunteers sits with students at least for 30 minutes a week to read with the students and help them see that reading is fun.
CEP provides 1:1 tutoring and mentoring to students. The staff and volunteers really care about the academic journey of the students.
CEP is an amazing organization. I have donated money and time to the organization because I believe in the work of the staff to support student academic growth. This is a great nonprofit with huge potential.
I have been tutoring CEP students for nearly ten years. It is challenging volunteer work, but it is very rewarding and I feel well supported by CEP staff. I also appreciate the resources on the CEP website that help me with tutoring. I feel so happy when my student develops a new skill and feels successful. This is a great organization to volunteer with (and to donate to!).
I am thankful for Community Education Partnership and what they are doing in our community. My son participated in CEP's summer reading club and he enjoyed it, CEP was able to find a tutor for my son to have and I am extremely grateful for this.

CEP has helped my Family and I by being able to find a tutor for my two children. As a single mother it is very challenging helping two children during homework time. CEP has been there to support me in ways where I don't have to worry about my children not completing their homework.

CEP helps our most vulnerable students. They provide critical educational programming and activities for Bay Area students who experience homelessness or housing insecurity. Thank you CEP!
CEP is a great organization that put their team member first. The team knows that without its staff, programs cannot exist
I volunteered with CEP at a family engagement event in San Lorenzo and it was great! I helped other volunteers run activity booths for the children and it was a rewarding experience to see the impact we had on children and their families. Also, Beth and the other volunteers are very friendly and welcoming.
I've been working with CEP since October 2021 and it's been a wonderful experience. The staff is extremely dedicated to their work supporting homeless and housing insecure students all over the Bay Area, as are the spectacular volunteers. There's nothing better than seeing CEP's students thrive academically as they build bonds with their tutors and get to take part in fantastic events and activities. It's a small organization with a massive impact and I'm so grateful to be able to play a role.
I have volunteered with CEP for the past ten years. It is extremely well run, with the CEP staff doing all of the unglamorous behind the scenes work so that volunteers are able to enjoy the rewarding experience of working with students. I enjoy the time I spend with students and I am proud of being part of such a fantastic organization.

CEP does incredible work throughout the Bay Area. The volunteer tutors it trains and matches with students play such an important role in the lives of the young people (and families) they help. CEP is a focused and incredibly efficient organization that will make the most of any support you give. I am proud to be a long-time supporter.
CEP is a wonderful organization that I feel so lucky to be a part of. They have a genuine commitment to serving homeless and transitional students in the Bay Area, and I have been particularly impressed with their work during the pandemic to deepen their supports for these students.
I started working with CEP as an intern this year, and it's already been such a great experience. CEP truly cares about the communities they serve and is dedicated to supporting students as best as they can. I love working with the kids, and CEP creates a safe space for them to interact and get one on one support. Thank you CEP!
CEP is an amazing organization that serves Bay Area students who face housing insecurity, by providing extensive one-on-one tutoring and school supplies. CEP volunteers are dynamic and dedicated to their students, and go out of their way to meet their students' needs. CEP staff and volunteers are enthusiastic about the work they do, and CEP's connections to the communities, families and students it serves are strong.
CEP puts family first before anything else. Their dedication to kids is beyond anything I have ever seen. The staff are down-to-earth leaders that continue to care about those small differences that make huge impact for children. For such a small organization, numerous lives have been impacted. Volunteers receive so much support and I am happy to be part of the CEP community.
The Community Education Partnership not only supports students academically, they are also strengthening the family as a whole. Students are given the tools to be stronger emotionally and mentally. I have personally seen this organization assist clients from a transitional housing program to a four year university. The tutors in this organization are passionate about their work and have always gone above and beyond for their mentees. I believe the children are our future, but CEP puts my beliefs in motion.
CEP is a truly great organization serving the east bay community. They really believe in the work they do and it makes such a difference for those in need of tutoring and/or school supplies. The tutors are great and you can tell that everyone really believes in the mission.
This nonprofit is amazing and the work done is truly life-changing for these kids that are being helped. CEP services families and kids who are having a hard time with housing insecurity to maintain their learning standards and connection with their schools.
CEP does really important work, pairing tutors with student's experiencing housing instability. I really appreciate how CEP is family and relationship focused, prioritizing the needs of families and following students when they move. The staff members at CEP are very passionate and caring for the many needs of CEP students. I really appreciate the transparency of this organization and wish them always the best.
The work that CEP does throughout the Bay Area is so needed! What is most impressive is their commitment to and flexibility in serving unhoused or unstably housed families in all things education. CEP focuses on the right things: students! Their flexibility, ability to meet students where they are, and ability to change gears throughout the pandemic has been incredibly impactful. When in-person tutoring and programming was put on hold, the CEP team rushed to secure laptops, hotspots, and other necessary tech for students to learn virtually. CEP re-vamped their approach to tutoring, by offering and training volunteers to support students on their virtual platform, and they spent many hours working with families and schools to come up with solutions to the barriers that CEP families were up against.
It has no doubt been a challenging year, especially for the students CEP serves. Virtual school, tutoring and programming has not been easy or seamless, but CEP has a can-do attitude that places the student's academic and emotional needs first in order to set up kids and families for success. It has been amazing to see that no matter the circumstances, kids always come first with CEP -- their staff and volunteers are persistent and won't be intimidated by the barriers of the school systems (or tech issues!). Go CEP!
My friend works for CEP and invited me to volunteer for their 9th annual fundraiser. I love their mission of providing free educational support to homeless children as defined by the McKinney Vento Act, and to see the large amount of community members that support the mission was wonderful. Their recruitment process for tutoring is thorough, offering additional training information on their website to further enhance volunteers' skills. It's really helpful to those who are looking for additional training, and they're very supportive of their tutors with additional information on the website under their Tutor Center for subject based homework and practice material by grade.
I am honestly very honored to be part of the CEP team. The staff is amazing, nonetheless being able to spend time reading and helping children complete there homework has by far been one of my greatest experiences!
Perhaps I’m biased as a volunteer, but the work that is done to help these students is heart-warming. This organization has done so much to serve students to the best of their ability and employed some of the most wonderful and helpful volunteers. What they did is great and they do it well. I’ve witnessed the positive impact they leave on kids several times and it’s honestly just amazing. It always leaves a smile on my face.
I have been volunteering with CEP for nearly a year and have really enjoyed my experience. The staff is dedicated, knowledgeable, and always excited to support their mission. Working with the students has very quickly become the best part of my week. I’ve loved watching them grow over the past year, developing new skills and embracing learning. Our students are clever, curious, and always hilarious. The CEP staff prepared me well for this experience and have been incredibly supportive along the way. Whether you have previous experience with children or not, this organization will prepare and support you so you can have a tremendous impact our the Bay Area’s most vulnerable students. I highly recommend them!
Tutoring with CEP is the best part of my week! I know I am making a difference for my students, helping them succeed in school, reach their potential, and exceed others' expectations of them. Thank you CEP for the work you are doing to educate homeless and highly mobile students and help them break the cycle of poverty.
I started volunteering with CEP this year, and my assignment has quickly become one of the most gratifying, joyous aspects of my life. CEP is a beautifully run organization: it's obvious they prioritize HHM students' needs and recognize the importance of instilling young people with agency and self-esteem. In addition to having such a worthy mission, CEP is also well-run from an administrative standpoint: I know I can rely on the CEP Program Coordinator to assist with any questions or concerns I have. If you are passionate about youth development, please consider supporting CEP with your time or financial resources -- your investment will equip children to envision bright futures for themselves.
After looking over their social media account, I appreciate how involved this organization is with the community. They are definitely hands on and it’s refreshing to see people my age working with the generation behind us and teach them to be involved in a positive way. I recommend this non-profit to everyone. Go follow! @communityeducationpartnerships
CEP has made it easy for underserved homeless students as defined by the McKinney-Vento Act to receive adequate educational instruction. By partnering with local shelters and transitional homes, they are true advocates of literacy providing tutors like myself with a cool literacy kit that includes books, a reading level assessment and fun literacy activities like Mad Libs and Word Bingo. My time volunteering has been great and I look forward to my weekly sessions with my student.
Corissa Stobing, donor and volunteer.
I have been supporting CEP since its inception in 2010. The staff and volunteers are very dedicated and hard working and I know that my contributions make an important impact on their ability to serve homeless and highly mobile students . As an educator, I know how transformative a caring mentor can be in the life of a child and I am very happy to support an organization that makes those mentoring relationships possible.
CEP does stellar work providing tutoring and academic support to homeless and highly mobile youth in my community. I would donate anyway, simply to support their mission, but I also like the fact they are the leanest non-profit I know. Almost every penny they receive goes straight to programs. Great people doing great work throughout the Bay Area
I've been to 5 CEP events at local shelters this year, and each time the students were more excited for the activity. Seeing students engaged, and learning in a relaxed and positive way makes it easy to go back week after week. Parents often join in to play games and participate in arts and crafts during family nights, and the laughter and joy in the room is contagious. CEP is generous with donated supplies, does their best to continuously recruit tutors, and works with families to maintain consistency through life challenges.
I’ve been volunteering with CEP for five years and have really enjoyed my time with the organization. Along with helping kids stay up to speed with their in-school academics, CEP’s one-to-one and small-group settings give kids the chance to explore their creativity and ask questions they might not get to in classrooms. It’s really exciting and inspiring to see a child who is feeling lost and discouraged, light up when they realize how capable they truly are.
CEP also has a lot of great programs, including its reading and computer clubs, which keep kids excited about learning. Kids who might otherwise not have the chance to work with computers get to learn vital skills like typing, coding and web development. This small organization has done so much for so many kids and I’m very happy I’ve had the opportunity to participate!
What I love about CEP is the goal we all share in providing children with the education they deserve to have despite varying outside factors. Meeting the children where it is best for them to tutor with the subjects they need assistance with is fulfilling and most importantly convenient for the children. Volunteering for the summer reading club really helped me to see the impact the time spent has on the children. Focusing on retaining literacy with the children over the summer while creating other fun activities really helps to teach. With CEP I've been able to foster a fun, creative learning space. I know with continuous growth the goals we have will be met and exceeded.
CEP and it's volunteers provide tireless academic support to homeless and highly mobile youth. While homelessness is a systemic issue that will require a radical restructuring of our society if we are to truly address it, the volunteers and staff of CEP have already began to show the way forward, and that is through deep compassion and a commitment to supporting the most vulnerable in our communities.
This is such a great organization making change through the Bay Area. I've volunteered with CEP for 5 years and have sat on the Board for 1.5; on both sides of the house, I have been so impressed by its positivity, enthusiasm and dedication everyone has to our CAUSE. Three cheers for CEP!
I enjoyed my time volunteering with the youth and working alongside other volunteers who share a similar interest in bettering the Bay Area through active community service. The work that CEP does is extraordinary and I will continue to support its mission.
CEP is a great organization. I volunteer in their tutoring program and the support that they provide not only to the students but also to me as a volunteer is invaluable. CEP is providing services to a population of students that are historically ignored and underserved. The family reading nights that CEP hosts in the local homeless shelters are interactive and fun for the children while maintaining an active learning environment.
