Mission: State of the World Forum seeks to contribute to the creation of a new approach for the effective management of the global system by convening highly diverse sectors of the human community. The mission of the Forum is to establish a global leadership network across a multiplicity of disciplines and from around the world dedicated to working toward a sustainable civilization. The guiding principle of the Forum's endeavors is to transform conversations that matter into actions that make a difference.
Programs: The Forum currently supports two Strategic Initiatives, the Commission on Globalization and the Whole Child Initiative. The Commission on Globalization is a global leadership network of over 180 representatives drawn from the major stakeholder groups. The purpose of the Commission on Globalization is to be an incubator, catalyst and integrator for innovative leaders and institutions working to bring greater equity, democracy, sustainability and accountability to globalization and global governance. There are a number of policy action groups and special initiatives that have emerged through these partnerships. The Whole Child Initiative is designed to identify, chronicle, and share the most effective grassroots community-based programs worldwide which improve the well-being of children and their families, enabling them to succeed and reach their fullest potential. They do this by focusing on and funding projects that meet the needs of children in the first decade of life with particular attention to the restorative process following difficult circumstances, including poverty, homelessness and children orphaned by AIDS.
