Mission: We offer what public schools stopped offering, teaching the industry of music, we are proud to say “No Student Left Out” Our goal is that we value the importance of enhancing and improving the lives of others with music and education. Music is food for the soul and the Standby Crew Academy wants to feed the youth of NYC.
Target demographics: The 27% of dropouts in NYC don’t graduate from high school because they lose interest in the classroom because they are not learning about the things inner city children are interested in which is music, the Bronx New York being the birthplace of Hip Hop and many other genres. With the latest data from the NYPD about the citywide crime statistics for March 2022, district 15 the Bronx has many problems but one of the problems is with gangs and youths on the streets with nowhere to go or do, and also a 12.3% higher than the national average of poverty. One of our objectives is to help reduce these statistics with our academy. These are the group of students we are concentrating on here at the Standby Crew Academy but we are also targeting all ages from 10 to 22 as a preventative measure to try and stop these dropout figures from rising year after year. There are many youths that don’t graduate from high school so they never have the privilege of learning a new trade.

Programs: We have programs starting with the basic’s in music production going through to intermediate in recording, Pro tools, recording techniques, basic mixing, Dolby Atmos and immersive audio for music and Dolby Atmos post-production among many others with many lesson plans to guide the students through to recognized certificates in the industry from companies like Avid. The whole idea of the Academy is to train all of the students to an end goal in the music industry, be it in recording, postproduction, publishing or live events. We will also be helping students find permanent positions in the industry after they finish. We will also have a program for budding entrepreneur to help them set up their own business.
