Programs: Instruction:saint mary's university of minnesota has two primary academic units: the college and the schools of graduate and professional programs (sgpp). The college consists of the traditional undergraduate bachelor of arts experience based on the winona campus. The sgpp includes continuing education offerings, certificate programs, bachelor of science completion programs, master's programs, an education specialist program, and three doctoral programs. The sgpp is based on both the twin cities and winona campuses, with centers in rochester, apple valley and oakdale, mn. Across the 12-month 2016-17 academic year the college enrolled 1,165 students and offered 31,898 instructional activity credit hours. The sgpp enrolled 6,883 students across the 2016-17 academic year and offered 73,660 instructional activity credit hours. The university expects to maintain enrollment at the college in 2017-18, serving approximately 6,500 students and delivering approximately 70,000 credit hours. The university offers 60 majors with the bachelor of arts program. The university offers an additional 60 programs within the sgpp.
institutional:the university serves students at over 70 locations in minnesota and at approximately 20 locations in wisconsin, each year. By bringing our program/courses to locations that are more accessible to working adults, the university provides education to those who might not otherwise be able to travel to campus locations. This model of off campus delivery will be utilized in the future. In summer 2012, the university began offering online programs and currently offers thirteen programs online and we continue to add additional graduate programs annually. In 2017, the university successfully completed the institutional reaccreditation process and implemented a new university wide erp system.
student services:in 2016-17, 329 traditional undergraduate students (about 28% of that population) participated in 21 ncaa division iii sports offered at saint mary's university. Participation in intramural activities annually is more than 40%. The financial aid office processed $63,633,717 in loans, grants, work study and scholarship for the entire university in 2016-17. In 2016-17, 9% of traditional undergraduate students were formally registered as students with disabilities with the institution's office of disability services, the majority of which utilized services offered by the university. 224 international students were enrolled at the university in 2016-17. Thirty-nine students participated in the first generation initiative program, which offers selected students scholarships to attend the university. The students engage in special support activities which include study halls, specialized advising and social activities which promote retention and student success.
