Programs: Hope rising: maine's first residential treatment program for women over the age of 18 who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation and need a safe, secure place to heal, receive treatment and start to rebuild their lives. The key focus at hope rising is to help the residents enhance their self-sufficiency skills by addressing health needs, managing recovery and pursuing vocational and educational interests. Of the 15 women who were at hope rising, all received medical care. One woman who was pregnant, received prenatal care during her stay, two took college classes and the others worked toward their high school diploma. One of the residents started her first job, another became employee of the month at her work and another was a remarkable volunteer who volunteered regularly at places like ronald mcdonald house, food pantries and a local church. Four women graduated the program during that time and four obtained their own housing.

the center for parenting and play offers the following programs:adult outpatient counseling and child/parent psychotherapy - are available for parents who are experiencing challenges with managing their child's needs and behaviors along with their own mental health challenges. Psychotherapy for children aged 0 - 6 who have experienced a traumatic event. The primary goal of this therapy is to support and strengthen the relationship between a child and his or her parent/caregiver. Outcomes of the year: children's outpatient (20 clients) - 17 exhibited improvement in parent child relationship /attachment: 13 exhibited improvement in emotional regulation. Adult outpatient (15 clients): 4 presented for assessment only to qualify for case management services. 11 presented for counseling: 8 successfully reunified with their child/children and 10 had improved coping/processed trauma related issues. Case management services - supports pregnant or parenting adults achieve independent living by helping connect them with public assistance programs, vocational opportunities, counseling support, and legal aid. Outcomes of the year: case management (20 clients) 7 successfully reunified with their children; 12 secured and maintained housing; 14 engaged in mental health services; 7 resolved legal issues; 11 secured employment; 8 secured transportation; 12 attended college/completed ged. The connected family parenting series of 6 weeks - covers the topics of child development, effective discipline strategies etc. Outcomes of the year: parenting classes for 54 parents successfully completed. Supported visitation services - offers a safe, nurturing place for non-custodial parents to spend quality time with their children. Outcomes of the year: 10 clients total, 2 clients are ongoing, and 8 completed and were awarded unsupervised visitations.
