Mission: The mission of spartan is to foster research and education in spondyloarthritis in the united states. Spartan members accomplish this mission by engaging in specific research projects and through an annual meeting, which highlights important education and research programs.
Programs: Spartan has made huge strides in imparting top-notch education while increasing the awareness regarding spondyloarthritis amongst american rheumatologists, as well as conducting and funding pioneering research in this field. Some of spartan's recent achievements have been the development of treatment guidelines for axial spondyloarthritis along with the american college of rheumatology and the spondylitis association of america, researching the epidemiology of axial spondyloarthritis with the national health & nutritional examination survey, and conducting the cme(continuing medical education)-accredited educational symposia along with the group for the research and assessment of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis in nearly 20 cities around the united states.
