In assisting Dr. Bob Segalman, Ph.D., I learned of the existence of Speech Communication Assistance By Telephone, Inc. (SCT) and the Speech-to-Speech (STS) service. I was particularly pleased with the successful effort to persuade the FCC to continue its STS outreach funding. This allowed providers to experiment with various outreach methods to find better ways to identify and educate potential STS users. SCT fundraising efforts aid in educating more people about STS and raises awareness of telephone access for people with speech disabilities.
