17 years ago my son was born, being parents of 5 other children we thought we were prepared. Almost experts in the field. When he entered into our lives we were surprised to find out that he had Down Syndrome. We weren't sure what this would mean for him or our family. Bornhava came into our lives when he was 6 weeks old. They help us understand the challenges we faced. They worked with our son providing OT, PT, Speech, and teaching him all the things any pre-school would do but, with so much love and support not only for him but for us. They gave us strength, knowledge and I learned to advocate for him and us. He moved on to elementary school but, we have stayed in touch and when ever I have a question, concern or need to know, the staff happy answer my questions or make suggestions.
My son would not have grown up to be the man he is with out Bornhava.

Mission: Bornhava provides a home-like, loving, and play-based environment to educate and nurture young children with differing abilities and to strengthen their families. Bornhava values our commitment to excellence, support for individual growth, and dedication to building a foundation for our children's future.
Programs: Preschool program - at bornhava, we deliver services to preschool-aged children in a variety of ways. Our center-based program focuses on development of motor skills, cognition, communication, social interaction, and growing independence. Each preschool classroom is staffed by a certified special education instructor, two teacher's assistants and therapy providers. A child's needs are addressed in very comprehensive ways. Frequent interaction with typical children continues to be an integral part of the program. This provides the opportunity for children with special needs to benefit from the play and language of age-appropriate play partners.
infant program - children from birth to two years of age receive services through our early intervention program - a comprehensive, goal-oriented plan of therapies and education. The design of services is unique to each child and his/her particular needs. Through the collaboration or parents and professionals, an individual family service plan (ifsp) is developed. This plan identifies the child's strengths and weaknesses, and guides the efforts of the team toward goals, which are regularly reviewed and updated.
