Causes: Arts & Culture, Ballet
Mission: To provide, free of charge, the highest quality of pre-professional training possible to young dancers and promote cultural enrichment and awareness to the art of dance. Southwest virginia ballet is committed to offering outreach opportunities for under-served and at-risk children and adults from across southwest virginia.
Programs: Performance -- provide full length productions including classical ballet, contemporary and modern works. The revenue and expense totals do not include the value of donated services 450. Two major plays were performed, the largest being the nutcracker. The nutcracker performance had over 5,800 people in attendence.
education -- nurture and educate young serious dancers in our region who may desire a professional career in dance or a related field. Approximately 50 students total are part of the junior and senior ballet companies.
