Mission: The mission of Southern Oregon Friends of Hospice is to sustain the residential hospice home, Celia’s House in Holmes Park, ensuring that dying individuals and their families are cared for with kindness and exceptional care, focusing on what matters for each individual at end of life, and to promote broader knowledge on the benefits of end-of- life palliative and hospice care throughout our community.
Results: We have cared for over 325 persons who have received diagnoses of six months or less to live. We provide 24/7 residential care in a beautiful 12-bed remodeled heritage home in Medford, Oregon. Our staff is trained in a mindful care giving model, which focuses on bringing meaning to the remaining days of our residents' lives. Target demographics: We provide residential palliative (comfort) care based on mindfulness practices for those at the end of life.
Direct beneficiaries per year: In 2021 as of 11.1.21 - 53 persons on hospice and their extended families have been cared for, and we have cared for over 325 persons since opening in April of 2018.
