Causes: Arts & Culture, Radio
Mission: To operate a non-commercial educational radio station licensed by the fcc which serves a population of over one million people and entertains and informs its audience through diverse music programming with an emphasis on the culture of memphis and the south.
Programs: Approximately 200 volunteers produced a variety of non-commercial, educational radio programming available free to anyone who tuned into 89. 9 fm or listened online via our website at wevl. Org. Nearly 60 different programs aired each week, offering a wide variety of music and information. Live music, new and historical bluegrass, americana, world music, rockabilly, country, rhythm & blues, soul, and memphis music are some of the numerous musical genres presented by knowledgeable volunteer program hosts from the community.
