Even though the R3 Bumble Beez is a performing arts basketball team, the fundamentals of the game and the relationship with the other players was priceless to my 5-year old son. He didn't even know how to dribble a ball, much less a basket. I saw progress in a month and I saw my son's confidence increase with every practice.
I had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Moses on one of her projects, "Annie", with Ridgeway Middle School. Everything was well organized and professional which is not an easy task when working with children. I was happy to be apart of the play and the final shows were super. You could truly see the children having so much fun with each other and P.A.D.C staff alike.
The PADC is a progressive organization that truly puts kids’ best interest at heart. I have had the privilege of volunteering with this group and the opportunity to impact kids’ lives in a positive manner. The organization’s influence is also beneficial to me in my personal life, teaching and grooming me to be a better husband, father and person. I appreciate the character and integrity with which this organization operates.
The PADC is genuinely concerned about our most precious assets - the Children. They motivate their interests in the performing arts by offering acting classes, dance lessons, a little league basketball team, music lessons and more! Every child that participates in the last event finds it hard to wait for the next event to start. They get so much practical information that they can take that and use it in their daily lives. It really helps the children to become well rounded and gives them another venue to dream big and imagine vividly. Memphis, we have a winner!
What an Amazingly AWESOME way to not only give back to the Community that many of us are products of but to also impact in a positive productive way the lives of the inner city children of Shelby County Schools (SCS).
Working with the children of Ridgeway Middle School on two (2) Major Musical Productions was such a joy, helping them to tap into their various giftings and talents while bringing each character to life was fulfilling in ways that I can’t begin to describe.
You never know what their home life is like nor the challenges that they face in the realm of peer pressure so the role of The PADC is dual one; we help them to find the their talent and more importantly we provide them a SAFE HAVEN to express it.
The Wiz was so much fun bringing to life and the students were in awe of each other’s singing and dancing abilities, Myra has a way of making them each shine in their own right.
In Annie they danced their way to FREEDOM and the smiles that exuded from their hearts was so contagious, we laughed, hugged, cried and laughed again.
Memphis and its surrounding areas will be Blessed for generations to come from the efforts of this Non-profit, it’s Board and the EXCEPTIONAL LEADERSHIP of Myra Moses.
The patience and sensitivity MJM used to bring my daughter out of her shell in the MJM Acting Classes was well worth the cost. I wish more people understood the positive influence of the Arts and would support this organization’s efforts.
I had the opportunity to volunteer backstage with the PADC “Lifeline” program which assists schools with putting on their plays. It was amazing to see Middle School children perform The Wiz in such a professional manner, using lavaliere microphones and serving in multiple roles (cast, backstage, etc.) The experience was unforgettable. I couldn’t wait to help the PADC this year with Cinderella!
I joined the PADC in 2016 and must say that I had no clue as to what was in store for me! To see and be a part of the inner workings of this organization is a whole new experience for me and I love it
My daughter's acting experience with the Performing Arts Development Corporation was phenomenal. The staff is very professional and provided a loving and educational atmosphere for my daughter.
OMG, I don’t know where to start. MJM the love and passion she has for children. My daughter attended Ridgeway Middle and she was apart of the stage play “ The Wiz “ From the start MJM was very professional and very patient with the students. All the hard work really paid off the show was a success, you would have thought the kids had been doing stage plays all their lives when it was really only a few months. In fact it was so great Ridgeway Middle asked MJM back the next year to do the stage play Annie. As a parent i was very proud of how MJM motivated and brought out the best of my daughter .
