They provide amazing service that goes beyond what similar organizations are able to provide. I would not hesitate using their services for any of my family members.

What I appreciate most about South Davis is the level of care they give their patients. I do not mean the high levels of treatment they provide the people in their care, but the level of love. Every employee in this building cares deeply for their patients. Love is just as powerful as medicine, and at South Davis, the patients receive both.

South Davis Community Hospital treats all of its patients like family. The level of care that is provided to patients at this hospital greatly exceeds that of other similar buildings in the state of Utah. The nurses are professional, caring, and bright. The doctors are capable physicians, and the support staff is incredible. This is the only place in town where passersby can see CNA's playing with the younger patients in the hallways. This hospital is a gift to our community and a blessing to its patients.

My mother was a patient in the long-term care unit of SDCH for about 4 years, where she was loved and cared for with respect and compassion. I was most impressed with the Recreation Therapy staff who always made sure mom was at activities, participating in outings and do all she was capable of. When it came time, mom received the care she needed with the SDCH hospice in her same room, which as a great comfort to have the staff we and she knew for years be the caregivers to help her pass. I would highly recommend South Davis Community Hospital.

I was first introduced to this facility in 1998 and immediately I was drawn in to its family type atmosphere. I had brain surgery several years back and had to be placed in extended medical leave. I had exhausted all leave and these remarkable employees pitched in to cover the rest of my leave (which to say was quite timely.) To date I am still a part of this great organization. I've had the opportunity to work in other healthcare settings and the professionalism, expertise, kindness, empathy and dedication it's employees possess is almost immeasurable. I am so proud of SDCH and services we provide to our community!

I was an employee of SDCH Home Health and Hospice, and couldn't have asked for a better employer. How a company treats it's employees says a lot about the service level they provide. If your employees are happy then they'll provide better service. I loved going to work and interacting with nurses, doctors, and the great supportive staff everyday. The patients and residents I talked to daily were grateful for the help and love show by the staff and the level of care they receive. If in the area again, I would love to work for them again!

I have a grandson who has been a resident at South Davis Community Hospital for 3 1/2 years. He came to South Davis when he was 11 years old, after a horrific car accident. When he arrived at a South Davis he was in a coma state and no one was really sure if he would survive or if he would be able to function at all. It was a touch and go for several months. Drs. Nancy Murphy and Jennifer Britton and the Staff at South Davis have worked with him very closely and over time he has made wonderful progress to the point that he is now in the 9th grade at Jr. High and is an outstanding student. He still has many limitations but the progress that he has made is beyond belief!!! I have spent many hours with him everyday and have witnessed first hand the dedication, love, care and concern that is shown to him everyday. I have not only seen this dedication, love, care and concern show to my grandson but to all the patients at South Davis Community Hospital! I am soooo greatful to South Davis for all they do!!!! Sincerely, Grandpa Chuck

SDCH provides a wide range of care for ill patients. They have the most amazing staff and caring people within the building. It is great to know that we have such a health care facility in the area that provides all the care that SDCH does.

I am so happy to be a part of the South Davis Community Hospital campus. The campus provides excellent priority care for members of this and surrounding communities to come for health care. It's never an easy option; to go somewhere that isn't home, at a difficult time in life, but the staff make each patient feel important and a part of their healing and rehab. The patient's that must, out of necessity, make South Davis their home, are lucky to be part of a team that values them individually and is overseen by experts in those fields.

South Davis Community Hospital has developed into a wonderful place for people of all ages and ailments to come to recover from illness, debilities and return home, or it's a place for long term residents to call home. The staff is unified, friendly, and like family, and they treat the residents/patients like family. It's very well managed by experienced people who sincerly care about taking care of people. And being a small, local, single entity, management is able to make changes for improvements without the giant-business beurocracy obstructions. It's simply a wonderful place to work, and wonderful place for patients to be if they have to be somewhere besides home.

I believe that South Davis Community Hospital makes not only it's patients, but it's staff feel like family. Thye strive hard to provide different opportunities to serve their employees and their patients. It's not always the big things that get noticed. I notice little random acts of kindness too. From employee or patient BBQ's to going out of their way to make someone's day special. One day I saw a few members of their staff bringing balloons and a happy birthday sign to one of their residents. An employee noticed them and exclaimed that she didn't know it was that patient's birthday so she followed them into that patients room to also wish them a happy birthday even though she wasn't working on that part of the floor. It's the little, every day acts of kindness that go the farthest!

The work that the staff at SDCH does is just absolutely wonderful! I had the opportunity to work closely with Helga Swanson from SDCH on a charity event my company put together. The energy and dedication she has for the Foundation is great to see. It was wonderful to work with her and learn more about SDCH and the patients, specifically the pediatric patients. SDCH Foundation absolutely exceeds in everything they do!

As President of the Davis Chamber of Commerce I am privileged to work with wonderful companies that reach out to the community in which they work. In addition to providing high quality professional services to several segments of the community, SDCH maintains an amazing outreach program to make sure they are giving back to Davis County. This includes financial support, but even more importantly they support key employees being involved in service. This is a great example of how we all ought to be involved! This is the kind of business we all ought to support! Jim Smith

My name is Steve Olson. Several years ago my father-in-law spent the last few weeks of his life at South Davis Community Hospital (SDCH). He not only received excellent professional care, but was treated with great respect and dignity. The staff members were also very kind and considerate to the family members--especially his dear wife. We felt completely at peace because we knew that everything that could possibly be done for him in this transition period of his life was being taken care of by SDCH.

I am now retired and have accepted a position with the SDCH Foundation to help them achieve their goal to provide exceptional care and support to their patients and patient family members.

SDCH provides a very unique service to Bountiful Residents and many others. Taking care of patients who are on trachs and vents from babies to adults requires a skilled and dedicated staff, and SDCH has a reputation for having the finest professionals in the caring business. Here on the campus we also provide orthopaedic rehabilitation and luxury assisted living. As a board member I am impressed with the administration of the facility with David Bland as CEO and his support staff always striving to help SDCH serve the patients better. Nearly 600 employees at SDCH provide a wonderful team approach to care.

South Davis Community Hospital Foundation recently raised funds to replace flooring in the pediatric classroom at the hospital. Davis School District provides teachers and resourse aides for the long term care pediatric patients at South Davis Community Hospital. The flooring in the classroom was in need of being replaced and the foundation paid for the new floor. We really appreciate their generous support and love the new classroom fooring. Thanks SDCH Foundation - we couldn't have done it without you!

South Davis Community Hospital not only provides high quality health care in our community, but they also make a difference by getting involved in generous ways in civic causes. As President of the Davis Chamber of Commerce I have been impressed by their desire to give back to the county by supporting vital causes with a variety of their resources, most notably by encouraging their excellent staff to become involved and donate their time. They are one of our county's largest employers and recently won our Employer of the Year award. I believe that the positive way they treat their employees translates over to an extremely high level of compassionate service for their patients. I strongly recommend SDCH as worthy of your every consideration for recognition in your awards deliberations. James E. Smith, Davis Chamber.

SDCH is VERY supportive to their employees. I have had some health issues this year that have conflicted with my ability to work dependably at ALL times. Thanks to SDCH I am able to still keep working and work on my health as well. SDCH team is absolutely amazing. I have not ever worked with a better company nor a better team.

My mother was a patient at SDCH twice to rehab after hospital stays. She LOVED her physical therapists and returned to visit after she was discharged. They were gentle and yet persistant with her, they celebrated with her when she reached a goal, and they took time to get to know her personally. The nursing staff was attentive and kind. The dietician's aide always took a few minutes to visit with Mom every day. The customer service manager made sure Mom was comfortable in her room while the Recreation department delivered a hand stitched cloth bag Mom could attach to her walker so she could carry small items with her. Her doctor was thorough and encouraged Mom with the tough love she needed. Our family was pleased with all her cares and her progress. We couldn't have managed without the support, encouragement and dedicated medical care Mom received at SDCH.

South Davis Community Hospital Pediatric department is amazing. Not only do they give exceptional care to each pediatric patient they take the time to educate the family on the patient’s condition and equipment. There is no other place like SDCH in Utah for Pediatric Patients to go after they leave Primary Children’s. They are definitely unsung heroes for the part they play in pediatric rehabilitation.

The South Davis Community Hospital campus is a unique campus of care that includes long term acute care, skilled nursing, orthopedic rehabilitation, advanced respiratory care, specialty pediatric care, assisted living, home health, and hospice. There is no other facility in the state of Utah that compares to SDCH. Countless lives have been touched by the professional and caring staff and many miracles have taken place here.

I would give South Davis Home Health and Hospice a grade of B- due to the lack of encouragement for employee growth. In the home Health and Hospice department, opportunities to grow or progress are not offered nor seem to be encouraged. Pay is competitive to start, but with no opportunities for growth, turnover is high.

As a hospice professional and as a person who had a parent on hospice care, I am deeply impressed with South Davis Community Hosital foundation's hospice agency. They give very personalized care. Patients and their families really get to know and trust the hospice caregivers. The hospice people are always available to talk things over and they really listen to family input and to what their patients say and then put that into action. They are fantastic at helping families find the resources they need. They are great at teaching families and patients how to cope with this stage of life. All that creates an atmosphere of caring which is exceptionally helpful.

I have had the opportunity to work with a number of facilities and home health and hospice agencies. I have been so impressed with the level of professionalism and caring that has been demonstrated by the staff of SDCH. It truly appears that they are more interested in the welfare of their patients than the "bottom line". The staff is friendly and helpful. They have been very accommodating of individual needs and wishes. A very positive environment.

Although nobody hopes to be affected by a life changing injury or illness, South Davis Community Hospital offers a glimmer of hope to those who have been. As a registered nurse, I have witnessed the professional staff at SDCH provide kindness and deligently work with the patients that they serve. Their employees are knowledgeable in their field of expertise, and the organization itself has been recognizes locally and nationally for the quality care that is provided . Their facility is one-of-a-kind; they are one of only three LTAC hospitals in the state, are known for meeting the needs of acute patients, and the only facility that is able to provide care for children who no longer need hospitalization, but aren't quite ready to go home yet. The building is a bit older and there are parts that appear outdated, but they strive to keep it clean and well-maintained. Bottom line, if you are looking for advanced respiratory, rehabilitative, or pediatric care, SDCH is your place!
