Mission: South asian council for social services (sacss) was founded in response to the critical issues and tremendous barriers to social services faced by underserved south asian and other immigrants living in new york city. As a nonprofit community based organization, sacss' mission is to empower and integrate underserved south asians and other immigrants into the economic and civic life of new york. As a social service agency, sacss has grown and adapted to the changing needs of the populations it serves. Sacss provides services in the areas of healthcare access (pre and post enrollment), food security, senior services, job readiness, civic engagement, case management, and other social services. Sacss assists over 10,000 individuals annually, and has staff that speak over 16 different languages to meet the cultural and linguistic needs of our diverse clientele.
Programs: The primary activities of the organization are access to healthcare, senior services, education programs including computer literacy and esol classes, and food security.
