Programs: Publications: over its 120-year history, society members have written and published millions of pages of original research, technical papers, books and other content. These have established sname as a world-wide leader in the advancement of naval architecture and marine engineering. A large percentage of the historical legacy is available online. Researchers can search online technical papers and members can download 20 free papers per year.
functions and meetings: sname hosts hundreds of events every year from the society-wide annual meeting, to international symposia, to section gatherings. Beyond venues for personal exchange, networking and fellowship, sname events regularly feature state of the art technical presentations and first looks at the latest papers and presentations.
scholarships, grants and awards: the society has awarded millions of dollars in scholarships to graduate and undergraduate students since 1993. The scholarship committee has continued to give the selection process the dedicated care that has characterized their work through the years. Sname offers a number of different scholarships with varying selection criteria to undergraduate and graduate students of naval architecture and marine engineering. Students are encouraged to review the selection criteria and apply for consideration for one of these scholarships.
