Mission: Minnesota jewish theatre company ignites the hearts and minds of people of all cultural backgrounds by producing theater of the highest artistic standards. Rooted in jewish content, our work explores differences, illuminates commonalities, and fosters greater understanding among all people.
Programs: See schedule o the organization produced five new plays during the year ended june 30, 2015. The plays included " new jerusalem", "stars of david", "jericho", "rose" and "the chanukkah guest". The chanukkah guest was commissioned by the theater and was a world premier and is a charming play for the whole family. Over 7068 audience members aged 3 to 65+ attended these performances from across minnesota and wisconsin, as well as from other states including new york, texas, washington, missouri, maryland, north dakota and south dakota. Approximately 469 audience members participated in the doorways education programs which included a relevant discussion of the play. Doorways programs are designed to open the doors to greater understanding and enjoyment of the plays presented and to give deeper insights into the subjects and issues they address. Each production of the season has doorways programs to enhance the artistic and educational value of the work onstage. The post performance discussions feature esteemed guests who are professionals in our community. Approximately 33 volunteers supported the organization with their time and talents. Volunteer hours were approximately 260 hours. The new upcoming season 2015-2016 will consist of 5 shows. They are: the twenty-seventh man, the tale of the allergist's wife, bad jews, becoming dr. Ruth and the chanukah guest. The doorways program will be offered for each show.
