I definitely wish this theater was around when I was a kid. Back in my day we had to pay to join the local theater. Sierra Vista community theater is free and welcoming to all ages. They do youth productions as well as adult. It’s fun for the whole family. I’ve watched this community theater group grow over the last year, and I hope it continues to grow. The kids develop skills and confidence that will be beneficial in many aspects of life. While adults get to pretend they are kids, let loose and have fun without judgement. I’ve watched a handful of shows and there’s a lot of talent in that little theater.
I came to this theater in the Summer of 2021. They needed donations and volunteers for their upcoming show Nana's Naughty Knickers. I played Schmidt in that role and it was my first role ever on stage. This theater brings anyone and everyone regardless of experience and helps you become the best you can be on stage. Since then I've volunteered here and joined the Board of Directors. There's always something to do here for adults and youth.
I am the Treasurer and General Board Member of Sierra Vista Community Theatre. This theater is magical, and yes, ALL theaters are truly magical. But this the theater is the magic for my family and my small city. When I stumbled upon this theater I joined as an actor and quickly both of my children and my husband followed. I've since become more involved so I can make sure this theater stays open for a long time.
All of our productions are volunteer basis and free to all. Twice every year we have an all children's production which includes children running the stage tech, lights and sound. This gives the local youth a place where they are welcomed and taught many skills. Our theater is an all inclusive, drug and alcohol free place where all we want to do is get every one on stage to have a great time. Everyone at Sierra Vista Community Theatre greatly appreciates any donation made and hopes each of you get yourselves to your local theater ASAP!
