Shanti Orange County''s strives to preserve the dignity andwell-being of individuals living with HIV and AIDS by providing life-enhancingsupportive services, education and psychological care.
Programs:
ShantiOrange County programs include PRISM: Integrated Services Management, whichutilizes a comprehensive approach to addressing the complex medical, physical,emotional and social needs of adults of low-to-moderate income living withHIV/AIDS. Our Home Delivered Meals program serves homebound and disabledindividuals with HIV/AIDS with nutritious meals delivered daily by caringvolunteers. Our social service Case Management and Client Advocacy programprovides important linkages and referrals to the wide range of services crucialto maintaining health and well-being while living with HIV disease. OurPsychological Services program provides treatment and support for HIV/AIDSsufferers, which can be critical for patients with co-occurring mental healthdisorders, such as depression and anxiety as well as more severe forms ofmental illness and substance abuse. Our education and prevention programsprovide in-depth workshops and seminars for clients, health professionals andthe public that cover all aspects of HIV disease, including its prevalence,most up-to-date treatment options, medication usage, effective ways to copewith its impact, and the importance of secondary infection prevention.
