Causes: Eye Diseases, Blindness & Vision Impairments, Health
Mission: Surgeon for sight's mission is to help disadvantaged people, in south carolina and in third world countries, get the eye care they need to lead productive lives. We provide eye exams, eyeglasses and surgery to poverty stricken and uninsured people.
Programs: Providing vision screenings, eye exams, eyeglasses, and cataract surgeries to poverty stricken people in the upstate of south carolina. Care provided for 2016 was as follows: 492 eye exams; 656 eyeglasses/readers; 908 people screened; and 55 cataract surgeries
providing eye exams, vision screenings, eyeglasses and cataract surgeries in third world poverty stricken locations. Care provided in 2016 was:60 eye exams; 49 people screened; 33 eyeglasses/readers; and 60 cataract surgeries. In addition, we provided eye care education and training to individuals in the dominican republic.
providing eyeglass dispense training to mission groups along with supplying eyeglasses/readers. 8 mission groups were trained and 2,139 eyeglasses/readers were provided.
