Programs: Self-help housing - assisted 34 families in completing the construction of their new homes. 59 other families were in the process of construction as of june 30, 2017. Homebuyer assistant program - 58 families received secondary mortgage financing to help them purchase homes. Rehabilitation - 8 families received financing and assistance in the rehabilitation or reconstruction of their homes. An additional 43 families were assisted with emergency home repairs or domestic well financing. Multifamily housing - 1,347 low income housing families reside in 27 affordable rental housing projects developed and sponsored by self-help enterprises. Two new projects are currently under construction. Each project provides a range of resident services such as child care, computer labs, and esl classes. Community development - assistance to small communities with sewer and water problems is ongoing with work being done in more than 104 small rural communities. Homeownership education and counseling - 905 low income households received individual and/or classroom homeownership training. California drought - due to the extended california drought, the organization has worked with additional families to provide permanent water solutions and the repair or replacement of 36 water wells.
