If I could rate them zero stars I would. I reached out to Paw Estate Rescue and Shelter about a stray dog who ended up on my porch. I unfortunately just could not take another animal in, my home is really at capacity. After reading about the founders and their mission I really thought they cared about dogs and would help. I called and there was no answer, so I text that same number. He replied within minutes. He was a little short in response, he wanted to know what breed it was, health wise how it looked and asked for pictures. I responded accordingly, sent several photos and again he was quick to reply back. He asked where I was located. Which obviously gave me hope that they were going to help. I told him where we lived, and that was it, I never heard back from him again. I gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe he got busy for a bit. A little while later I text him again and he never replied back. This was earlier afternoon, I waited all day and into the following day hoping to hear back from him, but I of course never did. If he wasn’t going to help with this dog, at the very least he could’ve been upfront about it to me rather than just ghost me. For having what sounded like such a strong mission to help and save dogs, their actions surely did not align with this. I’m very disappointed in this nonprofit to say the least.

An excellent organization that has helped me get many stray cats fixed that would have otherwise continued having litters in the street.

PuentesDR is a ministry that through child sponsorship, we share the love of Christ within the communities we serve. PuentesDR staff works with the entire family to build and restore relationship through house visits and Bible studies. One of the most important things for us is the unique bond that exists between our sponsored kids and their sponsors. We partner with them to make God's love visible through education, health and nutrition in the Dominican Republic.

My journey with Able Inc. has been a surprising and deeply fulfilling one. Though I had been exposed to intellectual disabilities in my personal life, I never expected that serving this community would become such a significant part of my story. <br> <br>The work I do at Able Inc. is vital because it revolves around understanding and accepting our clients as the unique individuals they are. Their achievements are their own, yet I am grateful for the opportunities Able Inc. provides to help them reach their goals. The future may be uncertain, but one thing is clear: I am thankful for the opportunity Able Inc. has given me to serve this extraordinary community. Now, as the Public Relations and Fundraising Coordinator, I look forward to enhancing our organization's outreach and financial support, continuing to share the inspiring stories of our clients and their achievements.

Assistance League of Visalia has been active in Visalia and Tulare County for twenty-five years!<br>ALV was recognized as Non-profit of the Year (for 2022) by the Visalia Chamber of Commerce.<br>This all volunteer organization continues to provide school clothes, books, and hygiene kits for K-12th grade students. A new philanthropic project for Adult Health provides support for local unhoused neighbors, assisted living facilities, and students at the community college. Please join in efforts to transform the lives of children and adults through community programs.

This mural is a mural of history for thousands of Veterans in this great event. The mural has pictures of actual WWII Veterans who live in Visalia, Ca. This mural needs immediate restoration as the art work and integrity has been damaged. This mural must be restored by October or it may be removed. The cost to restore is $60,000. Do not let this mural go and let’s not forget our Veterans. They deserve this respect and the mural provides that. Please support the mural fund. For me, getting involved with this non-profit was a huge mistake. They aren’t run professionally, they’re run by family who project their unresolved trauma onto people around them. Nepotism central. Super toxic environment that values “yes-men” over competence. They blame employees for their failure to train and manage. They use their resources for people they “like”, not the actual community that is here willing to do the work. They abandon animals with fosters who can’t drop everything to bring them into the clinic with only a couple hour’s notice. They retaliate for perceived slights through animal care and access to resources against people they simply don’t like. They have a warehouse currently full of animal supplies not being used, just stored, no access given to independent animal rescuers or trappers in the community, or their fosters, unless they’re their bestie and then they can have anything they want. They also don’t regularly clean the common areas all the dogs go to, blast hip hop in the kennels no matter how many times they promise to play classical (yes-men over quality), they don’t actively help with trapping for TNR, but they do have a clinic that will unsafely spay your feral cat and let it escape (It’s policy they told me) it’s unsecured trap after treating you like crap for your TNR efforts. The foster program is a joke, no one feels obligated to be on top of it to the point it affects the health of their fosters. I’ve worked for several shelters and this was the most unpleasant one yet, hidden behind a charade of kindness. Oh and they bathe the Parvo puppies in the main kennel area.. so uh... I’ll let you decide for yourself how professional they are.

We are survivors of the SQF Complex wildfire that devastated our Sequoia National Forest last September. <br>Our community of Alpine Village was severely impacted. (It’s been several months now but I still cry as I write this). Our community had 54 homes and only 4 survived(just barely). <br>We are a retired couple that had just moved into our dream house. We had been looking forward to living out our years among the Giants. (Our property is in the Sequoia National Forest, is part of the Sequoia National Monument and in the Sequoia National Park). The Giant Sequoias have been lost along with 175,000 acres of our beloved forest.<br>We have decided to rebuild even though our forest has literally vanished. <br>This was NOT a ‘normal’ Fire ... the sequoias that had survived countless forest fires over the past 3000 yrs couldn’t survive this one.<br>Our mountain communities lost 220 homes and our landscape looks like the surface of Mars.<br>I’m writing to you today to humbly ask for help in a small way. Do you have any programs for replanting trees after a forest fire? <br>I’ve asked several agencies for information -have exhausted all my leads in the area of getting saplings or seeds donated. <br>I have purchased three large ponderosa pines from a wholesale nursery for $90 each - but our community has been vaporized- and will badly be in need of shade and habitat for the displaced wildlife. <br>Our property is going to FEEL like the surface of Mars come summer during the rebuild without shade. <br>We need some sort of erosion control too... <br>At the current rate I will be spending more money on purchasing baby trees... and would be perfectly happy to replace trees instead of my home.. because I don’t mind sleeping in a tent as long as my beloved flora and fauna come back. I feel as if my road to healing is directly tied to the land... if I can give the soil something to grow then we will heal together. <br>I’m wondering if, as an agency, you can investigate the possibility of a reforestation project in our area.<br>I know our mountain will not recover completely in my lifetime ... but I’m desperate to see some green this spring. <br>If your organization isn’t in this line of work.. I understand. The John Paul Magao Memorial Foundation is on its 11th year providing Scholarships to Redwood High School and College of the Seqouias. <br>Some call it drive.<br><br>Others call it ambition.<br><br>Whatever it may be, something must propel you forward to reach your goals.<br><br>Although his passions included ukulele and guitar when he was wasn't studying, he also shared an affinity for riding his Harley and Ducati motorcycles, a passion that tragically resulted in his death in 2007 when an accident claimed his life.<br><br>At the age of 20 John Paul Magao, a 2004 Redwood High School graduate with a GPA of 4.0, had plenty of fuel pushing him towards reaching his goals of becoming a pharmacist.<br><br>Since his death, though, his ambition lives on through the John Paul Magao Memorial Scholarship Foundation, which has annually raised funds for Redwood High School and College of the Sequoias students since 2008.

CASA of Tulare County is a Nonprofit organization that advocates for te abused and neglected children of the area. They train volunteers from the community to work with children in the juvenile dependency system, and advocate for their best interests. I was a member of Theta Tau Theta in the 60-70's and helped with fund raising to support Theta Tau Theta efforts to detect deafness in newborn babies along with support for the diabetic youth camp at Hume Lake.

This organization provides fiscal and physical support to the arts program at Green Acres Middle School, enabling them to produce an annual Broadway level play with upwards of 70 students (generally all who try out are placed in parts). It is a fabulous organization that should be supported.

I assisted Books for Prisons with the cleanup of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) fall book sale at one of the local malls. Part of the work consisted of separating the trade paper back books and other soft bound books from the hard backed books. The great thing was that BFP went the extra mile to get special trays that would fit the soft bound books so that the books could be easily transported to the local county jail to be used in the jails literacy program.

Love In the Name of Christ has been assisting people in Tulare County since 1991 . I have personally witnessed people being helped to the point where there lives were changed

CWC advocates for clean and affordable water in the Central Valley of California. With a relatively small staff they have become effective advocates throughout the state. Indeed in 2010 the co-directors won the Carla Bard Advocacy Award from the Public Officials for Water and Environmental Reform (POWER), an award for the most effective water advocate in the state.
