Mission: At seattle amistad school, we foster community integrity through rigorous bilingual and bicultural education, developing our students' academic strengths and cultural sensibilities, while nurturing compassionate and engaged citizens.
Programs: Pre-kindergarten and school age education: during the 2016-2017 school year seattle amistad school had 102 students grades pre-k through 4. These students received rigorous bilingual and bicultural education. They were immersed in the spanish language, with teachers following a 90:10 model of two way immerson. They experienced the artist in residence program, which brings in local latin american artists to teach students latin american art and culture. Students also received capoiera (brazilian martial arts) once a week, in addition to their regularly scheduled physical education program. Quality, bilingual education is the foundation of seattle amistad school.
before and after school care: providing before and after school care allows seattle amistad school to serve a diverse group of families. The school is open every school day from 7 am to 6 pm, which allows working parents to have full-day care for their children.
camps: in addition to before and after school care, seattle amistad school also provides childcare for families during school breaks in the form of camps. These include summer, thanksgiving, winter, mid-winter, and spring camps. This also allows working parents the option of having year-round childcare.
