the seafair ambassador program nurtures future leaders through a program of education, mentorship, volunteerism and cultural exposure to create a future of vibrant and prosperous communities in the greater seattle area. The seafair foundation annually invites local area high school sophomores and juniors to apply for one of ten seafair ambassador positions. Selected students represent seafair in a unique year-long calendar of community participation. Through volunteerism, mentor meetings, and participating in festival events, ambassadors learn just how "global- and "local" their own community is. This preparation allows for an even larger learning experience as they participate in a hosted exchange with students from seattle's sister city, kobe, japan.
