Mission: Scott robertson memorial junior golf academy dba/the first tee of roanoke valley (the first tee of roanoke valley) is a non-profit corporation organized to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.
Programs: School program - visit area elementary schools to introduce first tee core value and game of golf to children. Approximately 6833 children participated in these programs at 30 schools.
contracted with area youth service organization to provide golf instructions and life skill training to 349 youngsters enrolled in other agencies. Agencies include boys and girls club, ymca afterschool 4h summer camp and more. Program includes on site visits with instructional time where life skills needed for productive lives are taught as part of learning the game of golf.
approximately 342 children enrolled in first tee curriculum of life skills and golf instruction.
