My family relocated here almost 2 years ago from Massachusetts. Our new home came with 3 feral sickly looking kittens. What could I do but feed them? I spent weeks reaching out by phone call and email to various non profits to help with these feral babies. I got no answers or I was afraid they would be euthanized or it was cost prohibitive for us in a new home. Almost 2 years later I now have a colony of more than 13 cats that I feed once daily. I started searching again, how many cats would I have next year! I finally reached out on Facebook to TNR SWVA and a wonderful, caring volunteer named Kathryn got right back to me. At no cost to me, Kathryn and Stephanie helped me trap, vaccinate, and neuter/spay at least 13 cats free of charge. They have also donated bags of cat food so once I released my cats I could continue to support them. They also fixed wounds and other illnesses in the cats so they have the best chance once released back into their home neighborhood. These cats did not ask to be born outside or abandoned, but even one male cat can impregnate many females, leaving dozens or more feral cats that eat our beautiful bird population, or roam around starving and suffering . I ask anyone who has feral cats please go to TNR SWVA's website or Facebook page and get help for these animals. If you can donate to this charity, every penny goes to catching and helping these beautiful animals that people have let down. I am forever grateful to Kathryn and Stephanie for working tirelessly and giving what little time they have to help me and the feral cats that call my neighborhood home. All the volunteers at TNR SWVA should be commended for all the work they put into improving the lives of not only the cats, but our neighborhoods and the beautiful Roanoke area! Please donate any bit helps!

Such a great group! I’ve had the pleasure of helping and witnessing all the great things they’ve done for the feral cat community. Not only are they preventing the population from skyrocketing, they are also nursing those sick and/or injured cats back to health before releasing them. There are far too many cats in the community and it’s great to see groups like TNR SWVA working tirelessly to improve lives, limit overpopulation and help ALL those in need. I’m proud to play a small role with an amazing group and see the many, many lives they have saved!

I cannot say enough about TNR SWVA & those that we help. The organization strives to make a positive impact on the lives of community cats through Trap-Neuter-Return. We provide medical treatments, spaying/neutering, and essential veterinary care to reduce the overpopulation of community cats and improve their welfare. With the support of our community, our dedicated volunteers are committed to creating a better environment for community cats in Southwest Virginia.

Below are just a few kitties that I've been able to help because of TNR SWVA.
