Causes: Boys & Girls Clubs, Children & Youth
Mission: The san leandro boys and girls club invests in the future of youth by providing programs and opportunities which nurtures their capacity to become self sufficient, responsible and fulfilled members of our community. The san leandro boys and girls club provides daily after school programs at 12 campuses throughout the san leandro and lorenzo. The club is contracted by the san leandro unified school district and the lorenzo unified school district to provide state funded a. S. E. S (after school education and safety) programs on specific school sites. The club enrolls at least 110 children at each site and actually serves 1200 children every day after school.
Programs: Academic enrichment - the organization provides tutorial opportunities to students who are enrolled in the san leandro and san lorenzo unified school districts ases program. Students also receive supplemental instruction in one or more of the core academic subjects such as reading, language arts, mathematics, history and social studies, and science. Each lesson is designed to reinforce previously introduced skills in the classrooms.
project based enrichment - the organization provides teaching that active, collaborative, and meaning full through long-term group projects aimed at building self-esteem through cooperative groups. Each project is intended to offer students an opportunity to expand their knowledge on a specified topic through visual and performing arts.
sports - the organization provides variety of after school sport classes to help youth develop fitness, build character, and develop healthy and active lifestyles.
