Mission: The mission of The San Francisco Clothing Bank is to provide, free of charge, new clothing to people living in or near poverty in the San Francisco Bay Area. We accomplish our mission by securing in-kind donations of apparel from clothing manufacturers and retailers. We then coordinate regular distribution of new clothing to more than 65 Northern California-based social service agencies and charities with whom we partner. These organizations in turn, issue items directly to families and individuals in need.
Programs: Our organization maintains a 40,000 sq ft distribution center Our two employees, together with numerous volunteers, sort and pack new clothing of all types. The merchandise is donated by apparel factories, large and small, located primarily within the SF Bay Area but also a few larger out of state companies donate to the Clothing Bank. There are 70 pre-screened agencies that partner with the Clothing Bank. They pick up merchandise on a regular basis and by appointment only. Through these unique partnership arrangements, we clothe more than 50,000 people in Northern California every year.
