Mission: We are dedicated to a clean and healthy future and raising public awareness to help accomplish this goal.
Programs: During 2017, the organization hosted 2 major events, and completed its agreeement to be the fiscal agent for a grant from the federal government to the university of california. Earthfair 2017, held in balboa park on april 23, 2017 - our 28th annual event - featured 338 exhibitors from a broad range of businesses and organizations with messages, products and services addressing our environment and quality of life. The number of visitors was estimated to be between 50,000 and 55,000. On may 24, 2017, the organization hosted its 27th annual v. I. P. (very important planet) reception and e. A. R. T. H. Awards in partnership with the city of san diego department of environmental services, and the county of san diego air pollution control district. Awards were given to individuals and organizations that have taken extraordinary action in support of a clean, healthy environment. The federal fish and wildlife service has provided a multi-year grant to the kendall-frost project at the university of california to assist in the restoration of the kendall-frost marsh at the north end of mission bay in san diego. Earth day agreed to be the fiscal agent for this process to reduce the overhead. This work has formally concluded in 2017.
