Mission: The samaritan counseling center of atlanta delivers high-quality clinical, as well as spiritually-integrated, counseling to a diverse community of individuals and families of all ages.
Programs: Scca provides both traditional and spiritually integrated counseling to first presbyterian church of atlanta members and friends as well as to our diverse midtown community, regardless of one's ability to pay. We offer a sliding fee schedule, from 25/hour to 250/hour based on income. In 2017 our team of therapists and spiritual directors conducted over 840 clinical sessions, 45% of which were at the lowest fee level.
scca partners with the edna raine wardlaw coker women's transition center (wtc) at first presbyterian church of atlanta to provide individual and group counseling to the homeless women living there. Services are provided free of charge to residents as well as women who have recently graduated from wtc.
in 2017, we launched a partnership with the atlanta children's shelter, a daycare and preschool for homeless families with children. Our play therapist spent several afternoons a week providing counseling to children and parents at acs, as well as observing classrooms and providing support to teachers. Acs and scca are jointly funding this program and both are relying on donors to support this critical work.
