Mission: Safehaven offers mental health consumers a consumer-operated center where they may participate in educational, social, and vocational supports in a safe environment toward mental health recovery.
Programs: Safehaven enhances the lives of adults in need of mental health and addictions support in darke, miami, & shelby counties by providing educational, social, and vocational support in a safe environment conducive to recovery. During fy18, safehaven provided daily services for 21,733 sign ins at agency locations in greenville, piqua, and sidney (serving darke, miami, & shelby counties, respectively). Additionally, safehaven provided 9,905 meals, 2,433 support groups and classes (including evidence based practices such as wellness recovery action plan, living in balance, recovery life skills program, peer support, and more), and 9,842 transported riders for individuals without transportation access. Furthermore, safehaven's hopeline phone service logged 2,209 calls providing area callers with mental health coping and life skills, social support, problemsolving and information referral during evening service hours. Safehaven also provides an organizational payeeship program that assists individuals in maintaining housing, utilities, medications, food and other basic needs, and educates on money management, further aiding these individuals to focus on their own recoveries through providing their basic need stability. Safehaven provided these payee services to 105 individuals in fy18. Safehaven provided 91 field trips, holiday parties, and social events for consumers in fy18.
