My family is a host family for Safe Families for Children in Maryland. We have been very impressed by the responsive, professional and compassionate management. They help families who are in crisis by matching kids with families that have been screened and trained to host them while the parents get back on their feet. They offer excellent case management/case coaching support and really help both families achieve a higher level of functioning. I cannot speak more highly of this organization. We are blessed to be a part of it and recommend it to anyone interested in helping families in need.

Mission: Create extended family-like supports for desperate families through a community of devoted volunteers who are motivated by faith to keep children safe and families intact.
Programs: The alliance through its nationwide network of local chapters works to strengthen, support, and stabilize families through a) keeping children safe during a family crisis such as homelessness, hospitalization, or domestic violence in an effort to prevent child abuse and neglect, b) supporting and stabilizing families in crisis by surrounding them with caring compassionate community, and c) reuniting families and reducing the number of children entering the child welfare system.
